Randy Caballero Ready for New Chapter in Boxing

edgar solorzanoContributor IIIJuly 3, 2011

Coachella's talented prospect Randy "El Matador" Caballero (12-0, 7 KOs) battled and conquered Phoenix's prospect Alexis Santiago (8-1-1, 2 KOs) by unanimous decision last Friday at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif. The victory is the first title for Caballero; winning the WBC youth intercontinental title.

Although Caballero clearly won the fight by unanimous decision against Santiago; Alexis Santiago felt the judges were completely off on the scorecards and gave the victory to Caballero due to fighting in his hometown.

Santiago saying that Caballero didn't win the fight by unanimous decision is like me trying to convince the world that giraffes have short necks. It was a close fight, however, Caballero was the smarter and sharper fighter that night.

I'm not disrespecting this talented prospect. Alexis Santiago may still have a good future; that was his first time being defeated by a better stronger and smarter fighter. If he keeps his head up and stays hungry and motivated, he could possibly earn a rematch against Randy Caballero in the future.

Randy Caballero may be ready for a new chapter in the sport of boxing. A magnetic chapter that could attract action and several fight fans.

Caballero is the type of prospect that was born to trade leather in the squared-circle. This Nicaraguan-American prospect is growing faster than a dog. It seems like Caballero keeps adding new victories to his record every month.

One valuable advantage Caballero has over many prospects in his division is that he has sparred with great talent like Abner Mares and Nonito Donaire.

Donaire has stated before that Caballero has a great future in the sport of boxing. Another fighter that believes Caballero will be the next big champion is Nicaraguan boxing veteran Rosendo "El Bufalo" Alvarez.

"Caballero is the next big thing; he is quick, young and smart." Rosendo stressed in an interview I will be releasing soon. "He will be a world champion one day."

If you still don't know who Randy Caballero is yet. Don't worry, Michael Buffer will introduce Randy "El Matador" Caballero to the world of boxing one day.

Stay tuned for this young talented prospect's next fight; as he keeps battling and conquering other warriors in the ring.
