WWE RAW: Was John Cena Given the WWE Title Simply to Show off to the Rock?

John Cena is the new WWE Champion.

The Rock will appear on Raw tonight.

These two men face each other in 11 months or 334 days.

These two men will face off at some point tonight, which leads back to my first line. John Cena will face off with the Rock with the WWE title that the Rock previous prevented him from obtaining. This fact will hopefully be mentioned on tonight’s show.

John Cena is at it again with the twitter comments about how he can wrestle and appear in movies and have time for both. Cena apparently doesn’t seem to understand the difference in his Hollywood status versus that of Dwayne Johnson.

A WWE studios film can be tailored to Cena’s schedule; Paramount or Lionsgate are much less likely to be accommodating to another employer.

WWE went all-in with the announcement of Rock vs. Cena at Wrestlemania 28, whether or not the gamble pays off is another story completely

WWE is stuck trying to keep the Rock/Cena feud relevant while not repeating the same mistake of making the Miz an afterthought in the Wrestlemania 27 match.

The stake are much bigger now because the WWE risks making the entire roster an afterthought. Vince cannot rest on the Youth Movement now because once Rock vs. Cena happens that is one less dream match that can occur.

With Rock vs. Cena guaranteed and Triple H vs. Undertaker highly likely, the WWE still has three more hours of Wrestlemania 28 to fill, and if they  are smart they will use the summer to push superstars into being must-watch performers.
