WWE Extreme Rules Results: What's Next for R-Truth?

Eric KanesMay 1, 2011

What's up, ladies and gentlemen? My name is Eric Kanes and Extreme Rules has come and gone. I, for one, was watching it and covering it all night. There were moments that made me mark out such as Christian's world title win and Kharma's debut.

There were also moments that made me shake my head such as the Country Whipping Match and the unbelievable booking of The Corre. However, the event that has everyone talking is John Cena's 10th world championship win.

The booking seemed horrible as the win came at a time where The Miz needed a win. Since becoming WWE Champion, The Miz has yet to pick up a clean victory and this was no exception. In fact, he was made to look awfully weak as he got nearly no offense in and got pinned just moments after both of his opponents were taken out.

However, there's a saying that goes like this - one man's pain is another man's pleasure.

John Cena's win may have been a blessing in disguise. The Miz can still go on to have a feud with Rey Mysterio and possibly head over to SmackDown after he's "had enough."

However, after John Cena defeats The Miz in his re-match, there is a new opponent that Cena needs to be utilized against. That man is R-Truth.

Aside from their real-life history, R-Truth and John Cena have an on-screen history as well.

Last year, they were portrayed as friends with Truth trying to help Cena "make the right choice." Since the story is that they're friends, Truth can "tell the truth" about John Cena and how he's always been holding him down.

The seeds have already been planted after R-Truth inexplicably attacked Cena during his match last night.

R-Truth is hot with momentum right now. A program against John Cena is just what he needs to elevate him to the next level.
