Why Michael Jordan's Era is Greater Than Kobe's!

I must confess I am a little bit of an ignoramus when it comes to today's NBA game. It does not interest me as much as the game of yesteryear. But goddammit, my dears will prick up when I hear about these discussions that the era of yesteryear was less than today's era. And as a 'logical' confluence, Kobe better than MJ.

Fundamentals people!! This era I must admit, is blacker. That's about all I'd admit. There are more black athletes since the Jordan era. Hey, corporate America realises how marketable black athletes are. But I'm sick of the ignorant attitude that black automatically equals better. Also, one other thing: weight training and nutrition. This is the reason why athletes seem to look stronger and athletic nowadays.

Jordan embarked on a weight-training program and got stronger later in his career. Some other players followed his example, including ALL of today's players. We all point to Drexler, Dominique, Craig Ehlo or whatever as being inferior to today's player, but these guys did not have a training regime like today's players. Don't just look at today's NBA players. Look at the people around you, everyone has more bodybuilding knowledge than yesteryear.

Imagine Larry Bird or Magic Johnson on weight training and protein shakes instead of Big Mac and fries; they would look a lot stronger than they did. Stop pointing to greater athletiscm as the reason why today's players are better. It's an illusion!!

Fancy skills will allow you to score points any day, but fundamentals drive you through when the going gets tough. Nobody had greater fundamentals than Jordan. In his prime, he would do even better against today's competition than yesteryear's. They played him so smartly back then. They might have put a chump on him, but that was a decoy. The entire team would  pounce on him - and often collapse. Fundamentals people!! Also, it's not just about fundamental basketball skills - it's also about the mind. That's why people call it a 'funda-MENTAL'. Yesterday's players weren't as distracted - their minds were in better shape.

Anyway, there are a lot more reasons why Jordan is greater than Kobe on the basketball court. But please, let's not hear that weak-era argument again!!
