On Oct. 11, 2008, the United States and Cuba faced each other at RFK Stadium in Wshington DC. The results were not as one would expect, but history was made with the help of Landon Donovan, DeMarcus Beasley, Brian Ching, Oguchi Onyewu, and Jozy Altidore, along with 20,293 spectators.

The game was dominated by the United States Soccer [Football] Team from the beginning to the end, in spite of the sole goal by Hensy Munoz for Cuba at 32 minutes. The United States Soccer Team scored the first two goals with DeMarcus Beasley.

DeMarcus Beasley kicked the ball past the goalkeeper Odelin Molina with the assistance from Sacha Kljestan at 10 minutes and scored the first goal. DeMarcus Beasley then kicked the ball with his right foot past Molina to score a second goal at 32 minutes, with some help from Landon Donovan.

The second half had more excitement than the first half, with Landon Donovan, Brian Ching, Jozzy Altidore, and Oguchi Onyewu scoring goal after goal, with help from other personalities of the United States Soccer Team such as Freddy Adu, Heath Pearce, Sacha Klejstan, and Clint Dempsey.

In fact, the United States Soccer [Football] Team played a consistent game, were organized, and disciplined. It was through this teamwork that the USA was able to clinch the FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

The only inconvenience was when Michael Bradley received a yellow card almost at the end of the game for anti-professional behaviour unbecoming of a sports person. DeMarcus Bradley was declared the Sierra Mist Man of the Match.

The Cuban Soccer Team left much to be desired with attempts at reacting to the American onslaught left much to be desired. It appeared that the Cuban Soccer Team lost its balance and became disorganized during the games. Reysander Fernandez received a yellow card for his anti-professional behaviour. Yoel Colome received two cautions and was finally expelled from the game for his anti-professional behaviour unbecoming of a sports person.

I would like to congratulate the United States Soccer Team for clinching the FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

  1. will usa win the 2010 fifa world cup? are you serious?! they haven't even qualified yet, it'll take quite a few more games for that to happen. and even if they do qualify, as if they would beat the likes of brazil or argentina and win the world cup.

  2. Thanks for your comments.

  3. Congratulations to the US MNT qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. Way to go!

  4. The North America qualifications is a joke. There is no competition. It is always Mexico and USA making it. They should combine the North American qualifications with the South American qualifications. it will improve football in nations like Canada and USA. As far as USA plays only against weak and 4th degree teams, they eill not improve.

    1. Thanks Sam for your comments. I agree with you.
