WWE: Jobbed Morrison, Diary of a Doghouse (Day 7), Morrison Smoked by R-Truth
Big Nasty will be keeping a running diary of what should be an epic losing streak/de-push of former WWE rising star John Morrison.
Major heat on Morrison stems back to WrestleMania season, when Morrison infamously gave WWE Diva Legend Trish Stratus cold-shoulder treatment leading up to their WrestleMania 27 mixed tag team match.
LONDON, England, April 18, 2011 - Coming off of a TV loss to R-Truth on last week's RAW, John Morrison has officially checked into the WWE doghouse. I've been paying particular attention to how Morrison's been booked on recent house shows during WWE's recent tour overseas, and early indications were not half bad given the circumstances.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Morrison was booked quite strongly on his first three house shows with victories in each of them. Morrison went over Dolph Ziggler in Glasgow, Scotland, and followed that win up by teaming with top star John Cena to defeat the Miz and Alex Riley. Morrison then went over Dolph Ziggler once again in Birmingham, UK.
Morrison's brief house show winning-streak ended with a loss to Sheamus in Nottingham, England on the final house show before RAW.
With Edge retiring prematurely, WWE (namely the Smackdown! brand) has an even bigger hole in the oft-lacking babyface department. With the WWE draft upcoming next week, perhaps Morrison will have an avenue to escape imminent obscurity as one of the top babyfaces of the B-show.
RAW kicks off in the O2 Arena with an ecstatic R-Truth opening the show. R-Truth expresses excitement with becoming the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship, and declares that when he wins the championship, he will be the most fighting champion of all time.
R-Truth is then interrupted by Morrison, who is involved in a high-profile, opening RAW segment for the second straight week.
The segment bombed.
With R-Truth constantly interrupting Morrison's feeble attempts at humor, in an exchange punctuated by Morrison's signature lack of delivery, the usually hyped up London crowd quickly went dormant.
Morrison prompted the production team to air a previously unseen clip from RAW last week of R-Truth drinking bottled water prior to his second gauntlet match against John Cena. Morrison then tried twice to make quips of R-Truth being a smoker, both attempts at the same joke went over about as well as the Situation at the roast of Donald Trump.
Morrison has now shown the crippling ability to take away from a segment with his contributions on the mic. This is especially damning because even if his current doghouse run ends, his lacking mic skills and charisma (both of which remain pitiful despite almost a decade in WWE) have further curbed his potential.
Internet fans have often been described as 'smart marks' due to their meticulousness in following the pro wrestling product. My question is, if these fans are so close to the product and are supposed to be so knowledgeable, how and why has John Morrison (and his piss-poor potential) become one of their sacred cows?
Meanwhile, at the bomb shelter, Morrison and R-Truth save the London crowd, now on life support, from more talking as they agree to have a match with R-Truth's No. 1 contendership on the line.
John Morrison vs. R-Truth: No. 1 Contender's Match
Morrison and Truth locked up with Truth connecting on an early headlock takedown. R-Truth followed up with a school boy as Morrison kicked out. The two squared off, prompting the London fans for cheers. However, they were so badly killed by a horrendous opening exchange that they continued to sit on their hands.
R-Truth went outside to drink some water as WWE went to break.
We come back from break as R-Truth connects on an arm drag. Truth hits another headlock takedown for a nearfall. Michael Cole and J.R. argue as R-Truth counters a hiptoss with a rollup for a nearfall. R-Truth follows up with an inside cradle as Morrison kicks out again.
R-Truth hits another side headlock takedown as the crowd begins to faintly get behind Morrison. Morrison begins his comeback as he hits a series of clotheslines, but is cut off by an R-Truth shot for a nearfall.
Truth hits a chinlock as the fans continue to get behind Morrison. Morrison counters with a jawbreaker as he tries to get back into the match. R-Truth comes back with a suplex stunner for a nearfall. Truth's subsequent attempt at a clothesline over the top ropes is thwarted. As Truth finds himself on the ground, Morrison follows up with a Starship Pain for a three count.
Winner, and new no. 1 contender for the WWE Championship: John Morrison
A frustrated R-Truth attacks Morrison during his post-match celebration, striking him from behind and following up with a knee to the head. Truth hits a second running knee to the head on John Morrison against the barricade.
R-Truth gives a half-hearted apology to Morrison, followed by an awkward embrace. R-Truth appears to be helping Morrison walk on his own two feet, but then Truth quickly drops a lifeless Morrison who has now joined his own charisma in unconsciousness. Truth grabs a bottle of water and blasts Morrison in the head with it.
"R-Truth sucks!" chants begin to develop.
R-Truth helps Morrison to his feet and says "you did this, John."
The quote rings true in so many ways.
Truth then hit his finishing maneuver on the outside. For a moment, it appeared as if Morrison may have been eking his way out of the doghouse prematurely given WWE's aforementioned lack of babyfaces.
Nope.
Day 7 hath come and gone in this diary of a doghouse with no end in sight.
R-Truth pulls out a pack of cigarettes and begins to smoke. The newly (and brilliantly) heelish R-Truth has the fans worked up into a frenzy as they chant "That's illegal!"
I'm half tempted to start a diary of R-Truth's heel turn because it's so entertaining, and Morrison has been almost literally left for dead in the grand scheme of things. Somewhere in a dimly lit kitchen, Sean Morley is giggling.
Truth blows smoke into Morrison's face and smiles smugly as he turns to leave. Before ultimately leaving, Truth flicks the cigarette onto Morrison. Perhaps Truth was acting allegorically, as any chance of Morrison becoming a big star in the near future has suddenly been discarded and will soon burn out.
