Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona: The 10 Most Historic Moments of La Liga Rivalry

The latest match between the giants of La Liga (Real Madrid and FC Barcelona) ended in a draw. I have decided to do a slideshow of the top 10 historic moments of their encounter. It has been mentioned by the US Latin TV Conglomerate Univision and deserves publicity.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid faced each other for the first time in 1916. The first game between the two teams happened in 1929. We will now start with the slideshow.

10. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in Copa Finals

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid faced each other five times in the Copa Finals.

1, 1936: Real Madrid 2-1 FC Barcelona (Real Madrid: Eugenio and Lecue. FC Barcelona: Escola)

2. 1968: Real Madrid 0-1 FC Barcelona (FC Barcelona: Zunzunegui Own Goal)

3. 1974: Real Madrid 4-0 FC Barcelona (Real Madrid: Santillana, Rubinan, Aguilar, Pirri)

4. 1983: Real Madrid 1-2 FC Barcelona (FC Barcelona: Victor and Julio Alberto. Real Madrid: Santillana)

5. 1990: Real Madrid 0-2 FC Barcelona (FC Barcelona: Amor, Salinas)

9. Figo in Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona

While Figo currently plays for Inter Milan, he is part of the Real Madrid VS FC Barcelona Historic Slideshow since he played for both teams.

Luis Figo played for FC Barcelona and then signed with Real Madrid. The participation of Figo with Real Madrid received mixed reviews.

When Real Madrid faced FC Barcelona at Camp Nou (during the 2001-2002 La Liga season), he was received with boos and other acts of repudiation.

The example of the act of repudiation received was one of the Barca fans threw the head of a pig onto the field.

8. 2007-2008 Season

During the 2007-2008 La Liga season, Real Madrid faced FC Barcelona in the Bernabeu. The result of the match was Real Madrid 4-1 FC Barcelona.

FC Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid 

FC Barcelona left Real Madrid goalless after Romario scored three goals, Ivan scored one, and Koeman scored another.

6. 1991-1992: Real Madrid Gets Revenge

A year later, Real Madrid struck back with a fury. Ivan Zamorano scored three goals followed by Luis Enrique with one goal, and Amavisca with one goal.

5. Real Madrid Silences FC Barcelona at Camp Nou

November 19, 1999

Raul scored one goal for Real Madrid. Rivaldo and Figo scored their respective goals for FC Barcelona. Raul responded with an equalizer and Camp Nou was silenced.

Real Madrid is defeated by FC Barcelona with five goals scored by Xavi (10 minutes), Pedro (17 minutes), Villa (54, 57 minutes), and Jeffren (91 minutes).

Sergio Ramos lost his temper with some of the Barca players including Puyol.

Eto'o is now with Inter Milan but he scored one goal for FC Barcelona followed by two by Ronaldinho during the FC Barcelona VS Real Madrid match on November 19, 2005.

June 13, 1943 was an unforgettable date in the history of the rivalry between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

Barinaga scored four goals, Pruden three goals, Alonso two goals, Botella one, and Alsua one for Real Madrid.

Martin scored the only goal for Barca.
