WWE's Wrestlemania 27: 24 Days and Counting

John KindelanMar 10, 2011

We have only 24 days until the grandest stage of them all lights up and we get the 'season ending' spectacle known as WrestleMania! I consider WrestleMania to be a season finale of sorts for the WWE, if you look at it like a sport then this is definitely the Super Bowl of wrestling, therefore a new season begins post mania. If you look at it like a show, then this is the season finale where we tie up story lines and leave cliff hangers for the next season. We may crown new champions, we may have new No. 1 contenders, it's anyone's game, it's truly a great time to be a WWE fan.

Twenty four days until WrestleMania, and while some might say the road to WrestleMania began at the Royal Rumble, I'm declaring my road beginning today. Sure two weeks ago I went and saw Monday Night Raw here in Buffalo, but no, the road didn't start there. And yes, numerous appearances by the Rock, Christian attacking Del Rio, Miz attacking Cena, Rey and Cody declaring war has all taken place, but no it didn't start then, for me it starts right now.

Each day for the next 24 days I'll be counting down to the fantastic event that is WrestleMania, I'll try and celebrate something for at least an hour a day every day for the next 24 days to build up to the WWE event of the year. A quest, a challenge to incorporate a bit of the company that has provided entertainment and employment to me over the past nearly 30 years.

To begin tonight I am ordering on line from Amazon the WWE DVD board game third edition, why third edition? Because I already have versions one and two and this past weekend me and my three little kids played version two and had a great time, so lets get version three and hopefully get a game in before mania.

If you have not played the WWE DVD board game you must, its actually quite a bit of fun.

You play as one of four superstar legendary managers, Paul Bearer, Classy Freddy Blassie, Jimmy "The Mouth of the South" Hart or Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. If you only know who Bearer is due to recent events, your a nube and you should know your history. I chose Heenan, you then get to choose two superstars to manage and assign to Smackdown and Raw, in my stable of characters to use I had The Undertaker and The Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels. My son Austin had John Morrison and Batista, My daughter Sydney had Stone Cold Steve Austin and Trish Stratus and my youngest girl Emma had The Boogeyman (she loves him, I'm not sure why) and The Big Show.

You move around the board and play basically like you do most board games, drawing cards in certain situations where you have to pay the Comissioner or receive money; or you land on DVD squares where you have to answer, most of the time, multiple choice questions on WWE history and matches. Though my kids are young, with it being multiple choice, its not a difficult game to play.

The winner of the game is decided by whom holds the most belts on each show, or can be determined after a period of time, this second ending is most likely there because this game can be played for hours. The game causes excitement and fun, and really a lot of rivalry, the girls were dying to find the John Cena card to add him to their stable and my son Austin wanted to get his hands on Rey Mysterio his personal favorite. Well the rivalry began when Austin bought Cena only to keep him off the board and not let him wrestle, pure WWE heel, gotta love my boy.

The purchase has been made and indeed I have purchased the last WWE DVD version three board game from this particular seller on Amazon, I'll make sure to get a game in before Wrestlemania and fill you in on the the action.

Tune in tomorrow as I plan on putting something up every day for the next 24 days on the road to Wrestlemania!
