The 2011 WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony will take place on Saturday night, April 2nd, from Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The night after, WrestleMania 27 will emanate from the Georgia Dome, right next to Philips Arena.
On this week's Monday Night Raw from Nashville, WWE decided to announce the first inductee of the 2011 class.
During the episode, Jerry Lawler commented: "I will go on record and say that this superstar is the greatest of all time."
It could be Shawn Michaels, giving his induction a "first ballot" feel.
However, as my brain is doing backflips, something dawned on me, and it kind of saddened me at the same time.
It is past the time for The Rock to be inducted.
The Rock hasn't wrestled in the WWE since 2003 and broke the hearts of millions of wrestling fans by staying nearly completely away from the wrestling scene.
In 2008, I witnessed The Rock induct his dad, Rocky Johnson, and his grandfather, Peter Maivia, into the Hall Of Fame.
That gave fans, like myself, a glimmer of hope, that The Rock wouldn't just induct those two, but stick around and maybe have a match or two.
Instead, it seems like he just teased us with a few jokes at the podium and comments of wanting to wrestle Shawn Michaels.
I know I am not alone that I am eager to see The Rock go up against John Cena.
It would be close to Hulk Hogan and The Rock standing in the ring, face to face, to be honest with you; not quite as good, but close.
John Cena means to a lot of little kids out there, what The Rock meant to me for so many years.
I am going to attend the 2011 Hall Of Fame in my hometown of Atlanta this year, and if The Rock is announced for this, I don't know what I will do.
I will be happy, but at the same time, I think it will be kind of sad. It will close the door for good on having another match.
However, what are the chances of The Rock, walking down that aisle one more time in Atlanta the night after, if and when he is inducted.
I have wanted Rock/Cena for a few years now; this is the last time I will even think about it or ask about it for that matter.
