Every kid dreams about making a buzzer beater at least once in his or her life. Austin Groff probably didn't imagine his buzzer beater would end up looking like this.
As time was winding down in the first quarter of a game played between Twin Valley South (Ohio) High and Preble Shawnee (Ohio) High, Austin Groff got to work. With only a few seconds on the clock, Groff went to go pass the ball to one of his teammates, but a Preble defender blocked his passed.
Sprinting to see if he could get anything else off before the half ended, Groff grabbed the ball, with his back facing the hoop. When Groff heard someone yell, "shoot it," he threw the ball up and is now known as the backwards shot legend he is now.
Unfortunately though, Groff's team ended up losing 61-58 in a Holiday Tournament Championship game. If only his team had the same luck he had.
