A Top Title Push for Christian Would Totally Reek of Awesomeness

I recently picked up Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 for the PS3 and played until my hands went numb.

One thing about it really stuck with me and made me think what many have been thinking for a long while: Christian should hold a major belt in the Double Double E.

In SvR 11 (as it's known on the streets), there are multiple storylines called “Road to Wrestlemania,” where the player can choose different superstars who have personalized story lines; this features Chris Jericho, John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Undertaker (the Undertaker one is where you play as someone else and try to end Takers streak).

Also featured is Christian.

After playing Chris Jericho’s storyline (cause I am a Jericho mark), I played Christian’s. In this storyline, Christian is ECW champion but gets traded to Smackdown. At the Elimination Chamber PPV, there is a six-man Money in the Bank match which Christian wins.

Before the Elimination Chamber PPV, Christian and Edge team back up and get back to their usual hijinks.

Now that Christian has the Money in the Bank briefcase, he can choose who he wants to face. It is between Shawn Michaels (WWE Champ) and Edge (World Heavyweight champ).

It's up to the player to choose; I chose to face Edge, of course.

I’m not sure who writes these story lines for the games but this one is an awesome thought. Christian vs. Edge at Wrestlemania for the strap? Come on! How much awesomeness would this reek?

And I know a lot of people have been thinking about that for a while now.

Christian deserves to hold the belt as much as anyone in the WWE. And more so than the Miz, Sheamus, Batista (I know he isn’t with the company anymore but it hasn’t been that long since he held it) or Jack Swagger. He deserves it as much as recent champs Orton, Cena, Mysterio or his former partner.

And he has more time of service than Sheamus, The Miz, Barrett, Cena and Orton.

Christian has all you need: He is great on the mic, his in-ring work is very solid and crowds pop for him. Since he has been back in the WWE, he hasn’t been used very well but he is also injured as of this writing.

Yes, he held the ECW strap, but he deserves more than that. He carried TNA while holding their top strap, you know, back when TNA didn’t suck? No, this isn’t completely comparable to holding one of the top straps in WWE but it still shows he can carry a company.

So Christian is slated to come back in January or February, will he be relegated to the midcard or can he get some love from the brass?

You never know—maybe he comes back and wins the Rumble; maybe he wins the money in the bank at ‘Mania or at the MITB PPV.

I don’t have these answers. I guess we’ll just wait and see.

But while we wait, we can dream of a day when Captain Charisma holds the WWE or World Heavyweight belt. Maybe a top feud with the Rated R Superstar? We shall see.
