The Captain's Return: Five Possible Ways Christian Can Return and What He Can Do

Matt OffermannNov 24, 2010

So all the Peeps out there are waiting and wondering when and how Christian will return.

I have wondered this every time I watch a WWE event. It has been said that Christian may return by the Royal Rumble and if not, very soon after.

So many questions come from this and it is nearly impossible to picture the outcome that he deserves because of Vince McMahon.

There are, however, a few that even Vince himself knows that there is money to be made in, and if there is money, Vince knows he will not have this opportunity again.

I found five of these situations that would be gold if they were to happen.

Christian Returns at The Royal Rumble

1 of 5

If Christian does return by the Royal Rumble, there are two possibilities from this that I can see happening.

If Christian Enters the Royal Rumble match, he WILL win it.

Now before you hate this one, just think about it. If Christian comes out in the Royal Rumble, there is no other real explanation of why he would be put in this match if he were not to win it.

He would still be recovering from injury, and while he has the ability to play through the match without really further injuring himself, and even no matter how much Vince hates him, the idea of it is plain stupid.

Unless, of course, he wins it. This could set up what we all would love to see, a World Heavyweight Championship match with Edge.

He Comes Out to Either Rob or Help Out Edge

The way Edge has been going lately it seems as if he will have the title by TLC. If he does get it and retains it by the Rumble, then chances are he will defend it at the PPV.

If Christian does return to screw Edge into losing the belt, this would make a good road to Wrestlemania. (This one makes the most sense if Vince really does hate him that much, since there is no World title picture).

So then you're asking why would he help out Edge. The answer would be perfect if Edge is facing Alberto Del Rio, since Del Rio is the reason that Christian was out because he injured him and he would want revenge for it.

This too would also set up a good Wrestlemania match. The only downfall to this would be the Rey Mysterio angle. If Del Rio and Mysterio are still having their feud, then this would not happen.

Christian Reunites With Edge To Help The Tag-Team Division

2 of 5

So even I believe that John Cena has a better chance of retiring tomorrow than this happening, but it would help out the weak division.

I could see this happening if Edge was getting beaten up by guys week after week and Christian comes out to help him.

With the history that these two have as the best tag team ever to grace this earth (opinion), they could put over so many decent tag teams to help out the tag teams.

Of course another reason for this not working would be the fact that they would be jobbers for pretty much nobody tag teams.

With the only real tag team left being the Usos, it would take some time to build any tag teams, but it would be worth it in the long run.

The plus of this would be that they have the ability to make even a team of Evan Bourne and Zack Ryder look good.

...He Returns To Job...Again

The sad truth of what will probably happen. Vince is a douche and will never give Christian what he has earned, but as much as I hate to admit it, it's really a good idea.

Christian is an excellent veteran who has pushed greats such as John Cena and recently Alberto Del Rio.

I don't really have an idea of how he could make an impact return if he does this, but I really hope it is not the case.

A Feud With Edge (No Title)

4 of 5

This is the one we all want to see, some of us would like to see a title thrown into the mix, and a rivalry that is about a decade too late.

Can anybody else picture a TLC match at Wrestlemania? If this were to happen, it wouldn't be right as just an ordinary match. Since these two helped create the TLC match, it is only right that they should end it as so.

This match alone would add us old school fans to order Wrestlemania or any other PPV.

Christian Returns To Win a Long-Awaited Title

5 of 5

Okay, first thing: I don't remember this picture happening. I know he didn't really win the belt, but if somebody knows when this happened you should let me know. Thanks.

Mine, Steve Austin's (writer), and every other Peeps dream. Christian returns to win his first-ever World Heavyweight Championship!!!!!

There are so many ways to set this up, it is not even funny. Although highly doubtful a situation, it still sits in the back of every ones mind.

The absolute best scenario of this would be if Christian faces Edge for the World Title. Any other person would make the match not as fulfilling as it would be with Edge.

Most of the reasons for this are listed on previous pages but nonetheless it would be an event that could drastically "up" Christian's stock in WWE.

Just one world title could because he would join the triple crown team that is made up of legends such as Stone Cold, HHH, The Rock, Y2J, Kurt Angle, HBK. This would make him the 22nd Triple Crown champion.

Along with this, it would also complete his list of titles. Missing only a world title, Christian has held every WWE/F title there is with the exception of the U.S. title which he really can't win since he is on Smackdown.

So Christian winning the World title does much more that just making him World Champion for the first time, it solidifies his place in WWE history. Please, Vince, don't screw him just because of your ego.
