Number one!
Number one!

The 2010 season has been as amazing as usual, but for the first time in years, the championship could have been won by any of four racers in the final grand prix.

Webber, Vettel, Alonso...and Hamilton all had a chance of being crowned world champion at Abu Dhabi.

The spotlights from the new circuit lit up the track, making it a spectacle to watch for the millions of F1 fans around the world.

Alonso lead going into the final race, with the two red bulls behind, and Hamilton just about hanging on.

No one wanted to go out on the first corner, and luckily for the front it was Schumacher and Liuzzi who crashed way behind them.

Webber had a few close calls during the race, hitting his back wheel on a wall, sliding round the pit exit, and going off the track at least twice.

Alonso also had a near miss, as he was trying to pass Petrov. After leaving the pit lane, Alonso had to swerve to miss Petrov, and as he came back on track he was close to hitting him again.

The race was edge-of-the-seat stuff.

Each corner, each  passing move and each pit stop was one step closer to seeing who would be the best in the world. However, each one could have ended someone's dream of being on top.

For lap after lap, Alonso was being held up by Petrov, while Vettel was increasing his lead. Alonso did'nt have to finish ahead of Vettel, he just had to be fourth as he crossed the finish line.

Webber had a badly timed pit stop which put him behind Alonso, and pretty much put him out of the title race.

To add insult to injury, Petrov's teammate, Kubica, made a quick pit stop with less than 10 laps to go, and slotted in just infront of him. Alonso had to pass both team mates and Rosberg to be in fourth and lead the title race.

Webber was in a worse position, as he would have to pass them and Alonso.

Hamilton wasn't really in with a chance. The only way he could have won his second championship was if all three of his rivals crashed or finished outside the points.

The last lap must have been horrible and amazing for Vettel. He was a minute away from winning the race and the title, but he had to make sure he didn't make any mistakes.

Vettel crossed the finishing line punching the air (and crying over the team radio).

Sebastian Vettel is the 2010 F1 World Champion!

He will now go down in history for being the youngest world champion in F1 history. The second he crossed the finish line was the first time he had lead the championship all season!

Behind him Alonso did what he normally does and had a strop, blaming Petrov for losing him the title.

The 2010 season has been one of the best yet, it is going to take something extra special next year to top this.
