John Cena's Injury a Sheep in Wolf's Clothing

Lets not sugarcoat things.  John Cena is not necessarily a fan favorite to everyone, unless you're under 15 or female.  Some claim its his inability to wrestle, some his inability to sell (I'm under that category, even though I am still a fan), and some claim its just because they use him too much. 

Well, the last statement could cost John Cena significant time in the ring.  After losing his match to Batista at SummerSlam, it was discovered that John Cena had two severely herniated disks in his neck, which will require surgery, and keep him out indefinitely.  But, in the long run, it may not be such a bad thing.

Before you call me heartless or anything like that for saying someone getting injured is a GOOD thing, I wish John Cena the best of luck in his recovery and hope that he comes back 100% soon.

Why I think it may not be such a bad thing for him is that it sort of refreshes him a bit.  Lets say hes out for a year, like most neck injuries are out for.  That's a year that fans don't see him, he's not on TV. 

Yes, it may really hurt his merchandise sales, but just think of this.  How many times do we see someone get hurt who is a heel (i.e. Triple H's first quad tear), and come back and the fans go nuts. 

Now, I know John Cena is not a heel, but a lot of fans don't like him.  Where I think it may be good for him and the WWE is that when he gets ready to make his comeback, he could be HUGE.  People on message boards used to say that John Cena had the title long enough, etc etc etc. 

Now, he could come back and people will be behind him 100% on his quest for the title.  I think they may have started this before he was injured.  He lost his last two big Pay Per View matches and lost the World Tag Titles in a week. 

Despite a couple wins here and there, John Cena was not at the forefront on RAW.  I think this will be a full blown turn in his favor when he comes back. 

So fear not, John Cena will be back bigger and badder than ever sooner rather than later.
