You read that right: Auburn has already won. More importantly, Cam has already won.

After 24 hours of controversy and questions, this is an article to tell you that you probably wasted your time if you kept up with this.

Yes, I did waste my time. Here are factual reasons why the NCAA has nothin' on Newton.

The nail in the proverbial coffin is happening right now.

ESPN-Dallas.com was expecting an interview tonight with Kenny Rodgers over the telephone. They were supposed to have it right now. However, according to the Twitter account of ESPN-Chicago's Michael C. Wright, Kenny is BACKING DOWN.

That's enough said. All the other proof I'll give will imply that Kenny knows the cat is out of the bag. Anyone with knowledge of the situation with no bias or prejudice will know at this moment that this was just an ugly rumor and nothing more.

Why would Kenny be backing out of the interview? According to Michael, he's "cheesing up" and "getting cold feet about the interview." Actually, this just in: he has in fact chickened out of the interview. Wrap this case up in orange and blue, put it under the tree, and never get it out again.

On a radio show in Atlanta today, former Mississippi State player and man involved with this story, John Bond said something that is key to this whole incident.

He said, "I haven't talked to Kenny (Rodgers) since we were teammates at Mississippi State in the '80s." Wait, if that's the case, doesn't this just imply Bond heard a trickle-down rumor? Kenny Rodgers' seat continues to get heated.

Cam Newton denied any wrongdoing.

Simple. Cam Newton said he didn't do anything wrong. Cam Newton is not a liar.

He didn't lie about what happened at Florida. He didn't lie to Rece Davis about being unstoppable.

He should get the benefit of the doubt. Cam has been unfairly labeled as a "laptop-stealing thug," but no hater has called him a liar.

As for Cecil Newton's church and its sudden increase in wealth...

Cam's older brother was signed in December 2009. The church got the money BEFORE Cam made his first visit to Starkville. Why wouldn't an NFL player loan his dad some money, knowing he needed it?

Cam Newton is innocent. You can all stop talking about it. It's basically over, especially with Kenny Rodgers chickening out of an interview. Let's play some football!
