Roberto Alvarez-Galloso@AlvarezGallosoChief Writer IOctober 31, 2010

Santos Laguna and Chivas of Guadalajara faced each other in a do-or-die match \at Nuevo Estadio Corona in Torreon, Mexico. The referee was Miguel Angel Ayala Ramirez.

The end result was a tie between the two teams within the last few minutes of the match.

Christian Benitez scored the first goal for Santos Laguna by using his head assisted by Oribe Peralta. The goal was secondary to a corner kick by Jorge Enriquez Garcia.

Chivas of Guadalajara was not far behind when Omar Arellano Riveron scored an equalizer which was assisted by Marco Fabian De La Mora.

While the beginning of the match was routine with both teams measuring forces, both started to play with a passion. Both teams had a reason to play with passion.

Santos Laguna was in second place in the Mexican League first division with 26 points. Chivas of Guadalajara played with a desire to advance in points since it was in fourth place with 18 points.

The passion in both teams made both teams play in a consistent as well as disciplined form.

The result was more errors in the form of misconduct calls for Omar Arellano, Johnny Magallon, Mario de Luna Saucedo, Jesus Enrique Sanchez, Jonathan Laserda, Carlos Morales, and Daniel Ludue~na.

The match itself was exciting within the last few minutes. I hope there will be more games like this.

Santos Laguna 1-1 Chivas of Guadalajara

Most Valued Player: Omar Arellon Riveron and Christian Benitez
