Big Time Football in Big Michigan: Week 6 Predictions

Alex FergusonOct 7, 2010

It's Week 6 of the baseball season, and hopefully it'll be more exciting that this season has been so far.

In Michigan, where Michigan and Michigan State come into their cross-state rivalry as unbeatens, while Alabama trots to South Carolina for the College Gameday game (without the actual game - that's on CBS!!).

Anyway, a quick preview of what'll happen of the week.

Alabama at South Carolina

It's going to be a great game going into the fourth quarter, but the Gamecocks won't be able to stop Ingram and Richardson. Alabama by 14.

Michigan State at Michigan

This game's going to be fun! Both teams are fantastically offensively, and defensively woeful, so this is going to be fun. Last turn with the ball wins it. Michigan State by 4.

Florida State at Miami

This has been the most entertaining series in recent years, and there no reason why it shouldn't continue this week. Both sides have been 'on the up' lately, so this one's going to be fun. Wide left or wide right, people? Miami by 3 - on a missed field goal at the death.

Clemson at North Carolina

Kyle Parker could have won it against Miami, but some horrible interceptions by him  and some horrible turnovers by his offense made sure that the Tigers would lose their biggest home game in years. This time, they go to North Carolina, who have been depleted all season thanks to off-the-field, ahem, issues. We're going for North Carolina in an ACC division battle.

LSU at Florida

The last time LSU went to Florida, they were pulverized by Tim Tebow and the Gators. Two years on, it's John Brantley and the Gators, who are a shadow of that 2008 team. Les Miles' team—clock screw-ups 'n' all—aren't that great either. Apart from the West Virginia win, they've been awful all year. Florida by 10.

Illinois vs Penn State

We were meant to be at this game, but circumstances such as wives and jobs are keeping us at home. We'll throw this one out there: We're happy we've rebooked our tickets for the 2011 season. This one's going to be ugly. Penn State by 10, but the fans aren't overjoyed.

Indiana at Ohio State

Indiana pressed Michigan and had the chances to win, while Ohio State was unimpressive in their trip to Illinois. But this is the Horseshoe, and Indiana really isn't that good. Ohio State by 21.

USC vs Stanford

The Trojans were shocked about their home loss to Washington, but it had to happen last time. Having said that, Stanford fans were overjoyed to see their team take a double-figure lead at Oregon, before they were quacked. We're tipping Stanford to win by 14 in this one.
