I think I have seen it all now.
A Bryant Reeves Vancouver Grizzlies just got sold on eBay for $150.
Yes, the same Bryant Reeves who had that nasty rash under each arm and was a bust after having a solid career for Eddie Sutton at Oklahoma St.
This is why other countries hate Americans. People in other countries make $150 a year and we, as Americans, are purchasing overweight centers’ jerseys for the same amount.
Now, some of you bleacherreporties may be asking yourself how would Scott Tully know about this auction? And I will admit I was looking to purchase it as well.
Difference is, I, at least, have some sanity and put a limit at $20 to purchase a jersey like this. I wouldn’t allow myself to spend more knowing that wearing something in public like a “Big Country” jersey would have me looking nastier then a resident of Huntington, West Virginia.
Forget making the movie starring Matthew McConaughey “We are Marshall.” Michael Moore should have done a documentary “We are Marshall: Home of the nastiest people in America.”
The winning bidder was “Louis9930,” and I, going Dateline NBC on him, sent him a message asking what he is doing so successful in life that he can justify dropping 150 bones on a Reeves jersey. “Louis9930” declined to be commented for this article. However, I will give Louis9930 three excuses for buying the jersey:
1) He makes so much money $150 is nothing and really enjoyed Reeves throughout his short NBA career and wanted to support the former Cowboy star;
2) He lives with his mom in her basement and needed to add to his jersey collection of JJ Stokes on the San Francisco 49ers, Patrick Ewing on the Orlando Magic, and Picabo Street’s 1998 Gold Medal Nagano spider web design bib; or
3) Its Bryant Reeves himself trying to buy up all remaining jerseys in existence and burn them so fans don’t have remember he signed a six year, 60 million dollar contract. I guess that explains why Vancouver had to relocate to Memphis: when you have crackerjacks making decision like that.
So lastly, “Louis9930” if you or anyone who knows him is out there, please message me and justify why you bought this jersey. I won’t be able to continue on with life without knowing this answer.
