In The Fourth Annual Night Of Champions since replacing Vengeance, WWE heads to the Allstate Arena for the ninth pay per view of the year.
It is hard to believe, that just a year ago, Jeff Hardy captured the World Heavyweight Championship at this event after defeating CM Punk. A year changes everything. What happened?
Anyway, let's get right into it here, with my predictions for this years event.
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Kofi Kingston
In this match, due to recent outside help from Vicki Guerrero, Dolph Ziggler will lose the title if he is counted out or disqualified.
I think Kofi Kingston will reclaim the IC strap on this night, as Vicki Guerrero causes Ziggler to get disqualified.
Winner: New IC Champion, Kofi Kingston.
Big Show vs. CM Punk
The only non-title match of the evening, CM Punk takes on Big Show. This match shouldn't last long and is just there to kill some time. I look for Luke Gallows to cost CM Punk this match, and the end of SES as we know it.
Winner: Big Show
Divas Lumberjill Match for Divas Championship and Women's Championship Unification
Melina (Divas Champion) vs. Lay-Cool (Co-Womens Champions)
On this night, we see Melina become the first ever, unified Women's Champion as she defeats the annoying Lay-Cool. I mentioned an SES break up to happen on this night as well, I don't think Lay Cool will split, but there could be a cat fight involved.
Winner: New Unified Womens Champion, Melina
United States Championship Match
The Miz (c) vs. Daniel Bryan
A lot is being made of Daniel Bryan's submission move, "Lebell Lock". I find it way too close to Chris Benoit's "Crippler Crossface", which is funny because Bryan was fired for "choking" an official months ago during the NXT Invasion on Raw. As far as this match goes, I think Bryan will cause Miz to tap out
to this move and become the new US Champion. However, The Miz's night might not be over.
Winner: New US Champion, Daniel Bryan
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Kane (c) vs. The Undertaker
I can't remember in recent history, or ancient history for that matter, The Undertaker being labeled as such an underdog for a big match. I think Kane will retain his championship as this feud is going to go on a big longer, headed into next month's Hell In A Cell pay per view.
WWE Championship Six Pack Elimination Challenge
Sheamus (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Chris Jericho vs. Wade Barrett vs. John Cena
I actually am excited about a main event for a change, I think this will be all of what most fans expected, plus more. I am a big Randy Orton fan and I am ready for him to become champion again, but I think I will have to wait a bit longer for that. I really like John Cena to come away with the championship on this match. However, he will be burnt out after this grueling match and put out on a pedestal for The Miz, who lost his US Championship earlier in the night.
I figured The Miz would of already cashed in by now, and actually becoming the first ever to fail to win the title after cashing in.
However, I am proud to say that I am one of the fans who was wrong about Miz and he has grown on me as of late and I am indeed feeling he can carry the torch for a little while.
Night Of Champions will be Miz's night. If he doesn't do it here, I don't see him cashing in anytime soon.
Winner: New Champion, John Cena
Cashing In MITB: New Champion, The Miz
I hope you have enjoyed my predictions and enjoy this Sunday's Night Of Champions pay per view. Feel free to check out my WWE forum, PrideOfWrestling.com.
