ALL HAIL THE NEW KING OF NEW YORK! Rafael Nadal Completes Career Slam!
Nadal has completed his career Grand Slam as well as becoming the first man since Laver to win in Paris, London & New York in a calendar year.

Rafael Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic in four sets to complete his career Grand Slam.

In doing so, he has also become the first man since Rod Laver to win Roland Garros, Wimbledon & the US OPEN in the same year.

He is also the youngest man to achieve the career Grand Slam in the open era.

While many doubted he would ever win in Flushing Meadows, his triumph on Monday means he can no longer be denied his rightful place amongst the 'all time greats'.

Whether one is a fan of the brilliant Spaniard, as I am, or not, it's time to give the great man his dues, in winning his 9th Major Nadal has matched & even surpassed some of the greatest Champions of all time, all time greats such as Agassi, Lendl, Perry, Rosewall as well as the amazing Jimmy Connors, have all seen their records equaled or surpassed emulated or bettered  by the brilliant man from Majorca.

Here is my personal view of the match;

What a match, one of the very best, EVER!

Credit to both guys, they were BRILLIANT, Rafa was at his scintillating best & so was Novak, every time Rafa looked like he had him beat he would just refuse to give up, I hope all those idiots who doubted, mocked & questioned his heart cover their heads in shame, the Serb has the heart of a champion & the dignity of a King.

I hope Andy Murray was watching, as he would have gotten a perfect lesson into what it takes to win a major, as well as how to behave with dignity & grace.

I am not even gonna bring up that tired old argument about 'the all time great', all I will say is that after tonight no one can deny Rafa his rightful place among the ALL TIME GREATS!
