Triple Threat Match For The Unified WWE/World Heavyweight Championship at WM 27

Eric GrisantiAug 31, 2010

I had lost all hope in the WWE, and way before their terrible rendition of what was supposed to be a "celebration" of Monday Night RAW's 900th episode, but it seems creative has decided to do something they should have done many, many years ago:

Unify the WWE and World Heavyweight titles.

I'll jump right into it.

With all the talk of who Undertaker will be putting his streak up against at Wrestlemania 27, I can think of only one way to make the match historic. That being the addition of John Cena.

Oh yeah, and two of the most important championships being awarded to the winner.

Now, as much as I hate Cena and wish he would go hide somewhere, this would be the perfect opportunity for him to finally get his ass handed to him. And in front of millions, watching live and at home, I might add.

The only problem is, would WWE really hand the unified titles to a man who should have retired last year at WrestleMania 26 when he defeated Shawn Micheals ? Or would they risk the world rioting over the fact that Undertaker had just lost at the grandest stage of them all for the first time, let alone to John Cena?

This brings me to my next problem.

The Royal Rumble.

Every year in January, the winner of the 30-man battle royal, chooses either the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship. And with the titles being unified at WrestleMania 27, this leaves a spot open for a third person to be put in the mix.

But who?

Then you have to add the fact that The Miz still holds the Money in Bank and could cash it in at any time, although I doubt he'll still have it in April.

I see all of this as a good thing for WWE, because with the titles being unified, this means no more two Elimination Chambers or Money in the Banks. And no more draft, 'cause let's face it, that lost it's excitement a couple of years ago.

It seems as if so much will be going on from now 'til WrestleMania, with their being a mystery GM, The Rock possibly returning for a few months stint, the return of Triple H, a possible Goldberg return, and now the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships being unified in a battle between two, or possibly 3 of the biggest stars in the business today.

Feel free to comment, criticize, etc.
