Brett Favre: A Welcome of Mixed Emotions?
As we all know, Brett Favre has been reinstated by the NFL to be on the Green Bay Packers' active roster. The majority of people are excited by his return, but some may not be. Talking to friends and family, people who aren't Packers fans say remarks like, "Oh, he's too old to be a quarterback!"
Looking at the facts, he has broken five NFL records and Packers records as well. He has the skill and strength needed, but what about his emotional support?
The Southern Mississippi quarterback has the heart but on March 4, 2008 he announced his retirement saying that he was "just tired." But everybody knows that Favre couldn't leave football!

Throughout the summer of 2008, there have been so many phone calls, letters, and other things exchanged through Favre, "Bus" Cook (Favre's agent) the Green Bay Packers, and the NFL office. Nobody knew what Favre wanted to do and some people got tired of him. In fact at one point the Packers offered him $20 million to stay retired.
The Packers wanted to move on with their rising quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who graduated from California University in 2005. The Kiln, Mississippi native wasn't in it for the money, he just wanted to play!
Finally the commissioner of the NFL Roger Goodell had enough of the "Favre Frenzy" and reinstated Favre to the active roster of the Green Bay Packers.
Now there is a "Quarterback Battle" planned to see who is going to be the starting quarterback for the Packers. Will it be Aaron Rodgers, who hasn't started a single NFL game in his career? Or Brett Favre, who has led the Packers to two Super Bowls and has carried this team for over a decade?
The choice is not up to us. All we can do is hope that the Packers will get all this straight, and return the Lombardi Trophy to where it belongsāThe Original Titletown, The Frozen Tundra, Green Bay.
