In a recent interview with Arda Ocal and former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas of Right After Wrestling, former WWE wrestler Lanny Poffo was asked if Randy Savage would accept an invitation to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Poffo stated that if asked, Randy would definitely accept the invitation "without a shadow of a doubt." Poffo also stated that Randy would probably campaign to get his father (Angelo Poffo) inducted.

Besides being the brother of the "Macho Man," Lanny carved out his own niche in World Wrestling Entertainment, performing for the company as "Leaping" Lanny Poffo and "The Genius." Poffo wrestled for WWE from 1985 to 1992.

Angelo Poffo made his wrestling debut in 1949, and wrestled throughout the United States and Canada during his 40-plus year career in the sport. Poffo retired from active wrestling in 1991.

In 1995, he came to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and managed Randy during his run in the company. Angelo was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame in 1995.

Poffo passed away at the age of 84 on March 4, 2010.
