Pro Wrestling: July 26th Review Of WWE's Monday Night Raw!

John Cena/Chris Jericho Promo

Cena kicks things off here saying that his team can defeat Nexus and that they are not invincible. He goes on to say that his team need to act like a team and show unity ect ect. Jericho comes out and claims he is more valuable to the team than anybody else and Cena agrees.

They argue a bit and thats pretty much it. Both men's mic skills were really good here.

Although this type of ''dissention among the ranks'' angle is done with every storyline like this, I really enjoyed the segment.

Jericho played his role to perfection—as always—and Cena just said what he had to say and it worked well.

A nice main event set up for the show and a possible feud between Jericho and Cena?

An opening to Raw doesn't get much better than that.

5/5

Randy Orton vs The Usos with Tamina

An okay match for the time allotted. There were a few nice moves and some nice offense for the Usos. We all knew that there was only going to be one winner though.

Orton hits the ''IEDDT'' and an ''RKO'' for the win.

2.5/5

Miz tries to cash in on Sheamus

I don't know why, but I really like these angles where they tease Miz cashing in on Sheamus.

Orton soon ends it with an ''RKO'' on The Miz.

2/5

Edge's Conversation with Ted DiBiase

A backstage chat between the two here in which Edge say's what every WWE fan is thinking—''We want DiBiase on the team instead of Khali.''

I agree 100 percent with Edge here and I think WWE does too.

Expect the change to be made with a possible injury angle/attack on Khali from either Edge or Ted given as the reason for Khali being kicked off the team.

3.5/5

Edge vs. Khali

Complete rubbish which ended in a no contest.

It was alway's going to be bad with Khali being involved, but, I didn't think the WWE would pull this on us.

1/5

Nexus vs. Lawler, Smith, Kidd, Henry, Tatsu, Goldust & Evan Bourne

Wow!

This is really going to show us what Nexus can do!

Again, it was just Nexus taking turns to hit their finishers—can they execute any other moves in the ring?

It got boring after the second elimination.

I wouldn't have watched at all if it wasn't for Bourne.

3/5

Nexus Promo

Standard stuff here.

''This is what is in store for Cena and his team at Summerslam.''

''We are a team, they are a group of people pretending to be a team.''

Nice to see somebody other than Barrett cut a promo for a change.

The Nexus members who spoke displayed some improving mic skills, but, they have a long way to go to reach the level of Undertaker, Kane, Jericho, HBK and Edge.

3.5/5

Brie Bella vs Alicia Fox.

Total squash and a waste of time.

1.5/5

DiBiase w/ Maryse vs John Morrison

Not a bad match here for what the two were left do. There were some nice moves, incuding a single leg lariat from Morrison. This was a cheap, but good finish to the match.

It will be interesting to see how they work Truth into the angle.

3.5/5

Jericho & Cena vs Sheamus & Miz

A great main event here.

It was worked to perfection—both teams arguing and the tension between them was believable. The match featured some solid action with moves including dropkicks, shoulder tackles, and false finishers.

The finish to the match was brilliant in my opinion. Jericho turning on Cena?

Predictable, but entertaining!

It really hypes the match at Summerslam and makes it that bit more interesting due to the disfunctional team involved.

5/5

Post Match Shenanigans

There was some really entertaining stuff here. Jericho attacks Cena with the Walls of Jericho, Cena attacks Jericho with the STF. Edge speared Khali while Morrison and Truth argue along with everybody else.

Khali then delivers the chop to Edge and Morrison.

I really liked the conclusion which saw Jericho roaring at anybody and everybody as Raw went off the air.

3.5/5

Final Thoughts

I can't put my finger on it, but, Raw was missing something tonight.

I was hoping the momentum of last week's show would have a knock-on effect and help this week's show, but it didn't.

We had a great opening and conclusion to the show, but the part's in between the two left a lot to be desired.

Highlight of the night goes to the main event, while the performance of the night is won, and won well, by Chris Jericho.

Here's hoping he doesn't quit WWE!

Final Rating: 2.9/5
