You just can’t make this stuff up folks !

Four time cup champion and one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history is on tape wrecking half of the field at Sonoma but yet he finds the melons to blame Juan Pablo Montoya for wrecking Martin Truex Jr.

You got to love NASCAR, it is the soap opera that keeps on giving.

Here is Jeff Gordon’s post race quote:

“ Whatever is coming back to me I understand. When you blatantly get into a guy like that, you can say I’m sorry all you want. I had no intention on what was happening with him, I had the No. 42 (Juan Montoya) behind me dive bombing me into the breaking zone and where I made a mistake is trying to outbreak him.”

In other words Jeff Gordon and Juan Pablo Montoya were racing, and in road courses there lots of that “dive bombing” going on, in other words, they were trying to pass or not to get passed .

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s called racing!

Can we agree on that!

That was the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard, specially from a champion driver.

Here is a quote from Truex Jr. about Jeff Gordon that makes a little more sense:

"I know he's going to say, 'Well, Juan (Montoya) was trying to pass me and I was trying to block him I don't care. Just because he's trying to pass you, it's alright for you to spin me out? No! Let him pass you, then."

There you go Jeff, just give up the spot and save your buddies.

If it was me racing I would not give up a spot, but I’m not going to justify what I did by blaming someone else.

Jeff Gordon needed to take full responsibility for what happened with Truex Jr.

Agree?

Here is the list of drivers who have a gift for Jeff Gordon (a pay-back punt I assume) :

Martin Truex Jr.

Elliott Sadler

Clint Bowyer

David Ragan

And who ever drives the No. 83 next.

There may be others drivers who’s momentum was affected by those incidents, they also my have a little gift for him.

One thing we can all be sure of, It may not be a pleasant championship run for Jeff Gordon if they all decide to wait until the chase to give the gift that keeps on giving all off-season long.

You know! the wreck that puts a team right out of the chase?

Good luck to the No. 24, I suggest sending lots of gifts (gold and diamonds) to those drivers wife’s and Omaha steaks and lots of beer for the guys.

It may not help, but it certainly can’t hurt.

As always this is just a fans opinion and from what I understand everybody has one and I thank God for that.

Enough said.
