An Open Letter to WWE Regarding JR Calling His Farewell Match

Chris O ConnallCorrespondent IIIJune 14, 2010

Ladies and gentlemen, on Monday August 30th , WWE will reach yet another milestone in broadcasting history.

That episode of Raw will be the 900th episode of the long running show.

The show has featured many ups and down throughout it history and has delivered some of the most memorable moments in broadcasting history.

The show provided us with great moments like the Austin-McMahon feud, the Austin-Bischoff feud, the HBK-Taker feud, the Ric Flair and HBK send offs, DX and countless memorable moments involving Jericho, Edge, The Rock and more.

However, the show has also featured some not-so-great moments—Vince flopping all over the ring after receiving his first Stone Cold Stunner, and Mae Young giving birth to a hand to name a few.

Now, throughout all these episodes up until a few years ago, there was one constant: Jim Ross.

Good ol’ JR—The Greatest Announcer in wrestling history.

Sadly, JR has had a retirement sort of inflicted upon him—partly due to his health and partly due to WWE taking their programming in a different direction.

Here’s my problem: JR never got to call a farewell match! Now, what better time than the 900th episode? (And indeed the 1000th episode with all things being well.)

It would be a shame not to have one of the men who helped make Monday Night Raw become the success that it is involved in the show.

By the way, do it right—complete with a full live entrance to Boomer Sooner!

So, ladies and gentlemen, please support me in my quest to give JR the proper send off that he deserves by signing my petition at the following link:

Also, please post the link of this article to your friends and every website possible and encourage everybody to sign the petition.

Thanking you in advance,
