The Most Hated Sports Club in The World, Ever?
There was a time, not so long ago where the world of English football was a well ordered one.
In that world the top four teams were Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
The 'top four' grew richer and richer on the backs of the teams below who were just happy to be allowed to take part, these clubs were known as the 'grateful dead'.
All was well with the world.
Two seasons ago an evil man called Sheikh Mansour bought the little known football team called Manchester City (who to the most narrow minded and blinkered football supporters have no history!).
Manchester City were always thought of as friendly losers who never put pressure on other teams by trying to beat them. In fact they were considered the second team of many fans from the 'grateful dead'.
The evil Sheikh had decided that Manchester City should be allowed to win something and in order to do that he realised that he would have to change the way things were done.
So Sheikh Mansour put lots and lots of money into his football club and bought better players.
But because the top 4 had managed to use hundreds of millions of pounds of revenue over more than a decade, building their teams and developing their infrastructures was going to take more.
So the evil Sheikh decided to get a better manager, how evil was that!
Then he decided that, in order to improve still further he would either have to wait ten years or spend lots quicker than that.
Then the lovable Frenchman Michel Platini told football clubs that he wanted to help them by stopping smaller teams from getting above their stations and keep the top teams where they were. In order to do that he said that in three years only the top teams would be allowed to spend money.
Well the evil Sheikh decided that if he was to ruin football then he had to do it as quickly as he could. So he sent out his nasty evil minions to con and bribe players to join Manchester City.
In trying to improve his team, and at the same time scupper Platinis friendly plan to keep things exactly as they are, lots of people decided that Manchester City were not nice any more.
And so the lovable losers have now turned into the most hated sports club in the whole wide world.
