Ultimate Wrestling presents "Out of Control" on Saturday June 5, and CEO Alexander Hearse III confirmed that Percy Pringle III, also known as World Wrestling Entertainment legend Paul Bearer, would be at the show.
Alexander released five of the show's matches. He also allowed me access to Amish Assassin, who drew the most interest of the Ultimate Wrestling fans away from the Gulf Coast region.
I sat down with Amish Assassin and we discussed his past, his present, and his future goals in Ultimate Wrestling. We also discussed the matches that have been confirmed for "Out of Control."
Q: How is your life different now that you are on the Gulf Coast, compared to your birthplace, Altoona, PA.?
Amish Assassin : I moved to the Gulf Coast when I was six. My Mom is Amish, but my Dad is not. He is retired from the Navy and decided to settle in Florida with my Mom, my three brothers and me. The main difference is we only raise chickens, because that’s the only animal we have room to raise.
I’m the youngest brother, but the biggest, too. My brothers couldn’t really pick on me. We’d wrestle around after our chores were complete. Pretty much the same as Altoona, but we’d have more chores due to the large farm in Altoona.
Q: Recently, you have been teaming up with Party Gras Justin Stone. How has he helped you in your wrestling career, and how has he helped you in your everyday life?
Amish Assassin : Party Gras Justin Stone is great! Since he has rejoined the roster, things have gotten much better for me. When I debuted, some of the guys hated me; it was a rough time. Party Gras helped me adapt to new technologies like the Internet and cell phones. He showed me who Batman is, and he is teaching me how to party Nawlins’ style with the crawfish and beer!
This has also helped me tremendously in the ring. Before hanging out with Party Gras, I was stiff in the ring, trying to be very serious, but now I am having fun! He told me there is a time to be serious and a time to party, but most importantly, he taught me how to tell the difference. Anyone who comes to an Ultimate Wrestling show can see the difference.
Q: Other than Party Gras Justin Stone, which current wrestlers have influenced your style?
Amish Assassin : Well, because of the Internet, I have a whole bunch of favorites that I study. I try to take a little away from everyone I see in the ring.
Some of my favorites are Gorilla Monsoon, Iceman King Parsons, Dusty Rhodes, Stan Hanson, Bruiser Brody, Verne Gagne, Dory Funk Sr., Dory Funk Jr., Terry Funk, Dr. Death Steve Williams, Randy Savage, Jim Duggan, Roddy Piper, The Iron Sheik, Mick Foley, Ricky Steamboat, Dean Malenko, Johnny Saint, The Pegasus Kid…
That’s quite a list…
Amish Assassin : I also like international wrestlers like Kenta Kobashi and Mitsuharu Misawa.
Q: What types of goals have you set in Ultimate Wrestling?
Amish Assassin : Well, for career goals I would like to become a Grand Slam Champion, win all the championships: The Ultimate Wrestling Heavyweight Championship, the X-Factor Championship, and the Tag Team Championship. (Laughing) I don’t think I qualify for the Cruiserweight Championship. There hasn’t been a Grand Slam Champion yet, and although it's not very likely to happen, it’s possible, I could be the first!
One goal that I have already achieved is wrestling on the Ultimate Wrestling roster. Ultimate has the best roster on the entire Gulf Coast, and I’m fortunate enough to be a part of it.
My immediate goals are to win the Royal Four Battle Royal in December 2010 and the Ecstasy of Gold Tournament in September 2010.
Q: You suffered a knee injury in May 2009, a little over a year ago. How has that affected you and your career?
Amish Assassin : I dislocated my knee during a four-team elimination match on May 30, 2009. No one was intentionally trying to injure me: It was a freak thing. I locked up with my opponent, and I pulled back before throwing him, but my leg turned to the outside and I collapsed. I finished the match with a dislocated knee.
Let this be a lesson to all backyard wrestlers or kids at home. Pro-wrestling is a SPORT. Despite all of our training, even we are not immune from injury.
I was out of action for eight long months, but this turned out to be a blessing in disguise for me. Although I have to live with the pain everyday, I stayed backstage during those eight months and learned from the veterans. I returned in December at End of Days in the Royal Four Battle Royal.
Q: At Out of Control, you have a match with The Story of the Year Brian Caige. I don’t want you to give away your strategy, but how do you plan to beat Caige? Would you care to make a prediction?
Amish Assassin : I’m not too sure because I’ve wrestled Caige before. Caige is a cheater. He distracted the referee, hit me with a low blow, and pinned me for the cheap win. We’ll see if he takes the coward’s way out or tries to weasel away.
To be honest with you, I plan to hurt Caige. Maybe I’ll isolate an arm like Arn and Ole Anderson, work him over and make Caige tap. Imagine that, Amish Assassin forcing The Story of the Year to tap. I’m going to beat Caige!
Q: Your partner, Party Gras Justin Stone has been feuding with Bruiserweight Maze and the two will square off at Out of Control. Who do you think will win and why?
Amish Assassin : Maze says he has the best drop kick in the business, Maze says he’s the greatest, Maze says many things. Maze definitely crossed the line when he choked out Party Gras at Brawl in the Hall. Like we talked about earlier, Stone and I like to party, but I think this is one of the times to get serious. I think my partner Party Gras is going to put a Bourbon Street butt whoopin’ on Maze.
No offense to Deathrow or anyone else, but Justin Stone delivers the hardest chops in wrestling. Maze knows this too, so let’s see if Maze wrestles with or without a shirt. It could be a factor in the match.
Q: The Master of Devastation Cameron Frost is looking for a little revenge on Mr. Marcus Gibbs for costing him an opportunity to become the first Grand Slam Champion. Their war of words has carried over to the Ultimate Wrestling message board. Who do you think will come out on top and why?
Amish Assassin : Wow! This one is going to be good. Both guys can get it done in many different ways in the ring. Mr. Marcus’ Sandman clutch is nearly impossible to survive, but I’m going with The Master of Devastation in this match up. Frost’s Omega Crusher is amazing to see, and I think that will be the difference.
Q: Former two time X-Factor Champion Carlos D’Angelo has traded in his rematch clause for the X-Factor Championship for a shot at the monster Deathrow’s Ultimate Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. Who do you think comes out on top?
Amish Assassin : This match is going to be insane! I have wrestled both of these guys so I know each of them very well.
The Feature is the best-conditioned wrestler on the Gulf Coast. Most guys get worn down as the match goes on, but not Carlos. If his opponent is worn down, and bends over to catch his breath, BAM! Dos of Los, running knee to the head equals lights out!
The monster Deathrow is no one to joke around with, either. No one can match his size. I remember my first match with Deathrow, and a fan telling me, “Wow! That match was close!”
All I remember is Deathrow won by decapitation. He has a killer Big Boot that he can land at any time.
It’s really hard to pick a winner. I’ll guarantee that both men will be sore, but if I had to pick a winner, I’d go with the monster Deathrow.
Q: BTY Colby Godwin has chosen Pure Doug Pitt for his final opponent on the Gulf Coast before he joins the Ring of Honor roster later this month. Ultimate Wrestling’s CEO Alexander Hearse III said Colby could select any wrestler on the Gulf Coast, including champions from Ultimate or any other promotion, but BTY chose Pure Doug Pitt out of respect for Pitt’s talent and potential. Who do you think will win this match?
Amish Assassin : I don’t know; the fans will win this one! BTY and Doug Pitt have wrestled each other in other promotions, but they have never wrestled in Ultimate Wrestling. I’ll pick the underdog Pure Doug Pitt to pull off the upset.
Q: Thank you for taking the time to answer some questions. Is there anything you’d like to say to BTY?
Amish Assassin : I’m happy to do it for my fans. Thank you.
To BTY Colby Godwin, thank you. Even though we never had a one-on-one match, I will remember The Royal Four Battle Royal, because of the fun that everyone had in that match. I wish you the best of luck in Ring of Honor.
There has been no new word on the mysterious tapes that Ultimate management has been receiving, although Alexander Hearse III believes it to be a former Ultimate Wrestling Champion.
Ultimate Wrestling has reached an agreement with www . highspots .com to sell the Milestone III DVD. The DVDs should be available from the wrestling web site very soon, and they will still be available for purchase at Lady Devine’s booth at the show.
