The Thursday night qualifying session seen Newman take his 46th career pole. Kurt Busch, who last week won the All Star Race will start second in the Miller Lite Dodge. Turn 4 seemed to be the trouble corner in qualifying as Brad Keselowski crashed hard in qualifying and David Ragan also spun but was able to rebound in qualifying because he had'nt taken the green yet.
