Kurt Busch held off Martin Truex Jr in a green white checker finish to take his No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge to victory lane at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday night in the All Star Race.

Busch pulled away on the restart, as he did on the previous restarts following several late race cautions that had several cars wrecked and drivers angry. Martin Truex Jr won the Sprint Showdown and advanced with Greg Biffle to the All Star Race, while Carl Edwards won the fan vote. Busch won the first segment, but it was Jimmie Johnson in the Lowes No. 48 Chevrolet who would dominate and win segments two and three.

Drivers then came to pit road for a 10 minute break and then started the pace laps and made a pit stops. Denny Hamlin came off pit road as the leader with Kyle Busch second, and it would start to get wild on the restart as Hamlin got a bad restart.

The field would stack up, McMurray would get into Mark Martin, and then Joey Logano hit the No. 5 car of Mark Martin, causing a huge crash in turn one taking out several cars including Jeff Gordon, Casey Mears, David Reutimann, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Carl Edwards, and Tony Stewart.

On the restart, Hamlin had the lead, Kyle Busch would try to pass in turn two and get into the wall. Several laps later, Kyle Busch would cut down a right front tire and collect Kasey Kahne going into turn one. Both would hit hard, ending their nights.

Kyle Busch came to the garage and was mad at the No. 11 car. Kurt Busch would take advantage and go to the lead. On the restart, Kurt Busch got a great restart and Hamlin and Johnson would battle for second while Johnson got loose and spuns on the front stretch.

Kurt Busch would hold off the field on the final green-white checker as Martin Truex Jr would get to second, but Busch was long gone as he went on to victory lane for Penske Racing and scored his first All-Star Race win. It was a great day for Penske Racing as Helio Castroneves won the Indy 500 pole as well earlier on Saturday.

The Coca Cola 600 is next Sunday at Charlotte, points will be on the line but Saturday night was all about the money and the win.
