WWE: Are The Unified Tag Belts Good Or Bad?
Since Wrestlemania XXV, when the WWE tag champions, The Colons, defeated John Morrison and The Miz for their World tag championships, both belts have been unified together.
For over a year now, the unified tag belts have been won by various teams, which have become very successful in their defense to keep both belts.
For me, I feel that unifying both of the tag team championship belts has left alot of tag teams wrestling either against each other or just wrestling for the sake of it.
For example: Cryme Tyme, Shad turned on JTG because he was sick of not having success and blamed it on JTG.
I feel that wouldn't of happened if the World Tag Team Championships stayed on Smackdown. It would have gave them and other teams a better chance of winning.
This also occurred when The Colons, Carlito and Primo fell out, turning Carlito heel. To be honest I think Carlito did better in a Tag Team.
There are alot of cons of the unified tag team championships, but there are also alot of pros.
Imagine having both tag team belts, all that gold could turn anyone into an egotistical loud mouth jerk.
The Miz for example, was bad enough with his United States championship, but then he won the unified tag team championship with The Big Show, giving him the right to have an ego the size of his tag partner.
But, I'm more against having both tag belts on both shows, and on one tag team.
It's leaving talent to wrestle just for the sake of it, wrestlers who don't have the chance of winning the WWE or World championships, or even the United States or the Intercontinental (because both are hardly ever defended) need something to aspire too.
I feel John Morrison and R-Truth would of been an explosive Smackdown tag team with belts.
The Colons to re-unite, Cryme Tyme to actually have storylines of rival tag teams, with anyone the list goes on for the amount of talent who could of teamed up to win belts of their brand.
The days of The Hardy Boyz, The Dudleys, Too Cool, New Age Outlaws, Kaienti, The Headbangers, The Holly's, D'lo Brown and Mark Henry, Edge and Christian and any of fun exciting tag teams you can think of from the attitude era are sadly gone, and I don't see these two belts becoming un-unified for a long while.
Furthermore, Good luck to the current champions, The Hart Dynasty as their recent face turn has done them well.
Thank you for reading, and I appreciate the feedback and comments.
