Will Mauro Boselli Be the Next Sensation for Manchester United?

The arrival of Chicharito Hernandez at Old Trafford was perhaps a part of a big gamble for the manager on a player who almost quit football two years ago. Chicharito was never been given enough chances to play for his club C.D. Guadalajara, until the last year and this one.

Chicharito has scored 21 goals in 28 games for his club this season which spurred the purchase by Sir Alex, indicating that he is on his way of building this player in his own renowned way.

But the latest rumor tells that Manchester United is after the Argentinian talent Mauro Boselli and the negotiations are being already in the process. 

Boselli currently plays as a central forward for his club Estudiantes of Argentine Primera Division.

Having bagged 24 goals in just 35 games this season, Boselli caught the radar of Sir Alex and is rumored to have a cheap price tag of something less than even a £10m (a reported £5m-8m!)

The player with a strike rate of three goals in every four games has former United player Veron on his side to advise him about the plays and the life at United. What will you say, thank you Veron?

United has been over-dependent on Wayne Rooney all the season, while Dimitar Berbatov tried and failed to live upto the expectations. The silk and soft Berbatov could never get to the likes and heights of "Steel-n-Sharp" Rooney.

The need for talented forwards to get beside Rooney was loud and clear in the matches like Bayern which cost united the Champions League race.

Today is still a day, where the fans think (and may be Fergie too) that selling Carlos Tevez was one of the biggest mistakes of the manager. At least, the Argentine would have been far better than the useless 30m transfer of the Spurs forward.

Boselli is the arch predator in the 18-yard box of the game. Be it the right foot, left foot or using his head it doesn’t matter, as this prolific player is easy with anything to score and pass the ball through the net.

Ice cool in front of goal Boselli's matches show that he never feels pressurised into making a choice to score. The 5'11" forward at 24 years has a lot of time to grow and improve and has the perfect physical build to overcome and excel the EPL center halves.

However, his build up play is relatively poor. He is not the type of player to hold the ball up and look for support but rather he enjoys more in scoring the goal. While Wayne Rooney often indulges in creating the ball, the arrival of Boselli can earn United the dead-eye striker needed for the moment.

United's present forwards list comprises of young and inexperienced players like Mame Diouf, Macheda, Chicharito, and Welbeck. Rooney and Berbatov are obviously the regular ones with the latter being uncertain for the next season.

The arrival of Boselli at such a price will be beneficial for United as the former Boca Juniors striker is a target man which United misses by the time. So, if the deal works out fine and nice, then will Boselli be the next sensation at Old Trafford?

United is on its way to sign another Latin American talent after Chicharito, with five Latin American players in the squad at present. Are we looking at another Tevez or this time it will be different?
