7:05, The Prelim portion of tonights event is set to begin in the Featherweight division

7:10, Tyler Toner (10-1, 1 NC) vs. Brandon Visher, (13-0)

7:15 - Rnd 1: The round begins with a touch of gloves and a head kick that misses by Toner. Visher throws and lands a heavy right hand that briefly wobbles his opponent. Kicks from Toner are finding their spot but his counterpart continues to throw heavy leather. Toner lands a devastating combination and head kick that sends Visher tumbling to the canvas. Toner follows up with elbows while on the mat and the fight is stopped. Impressive display of striking by the now 11-1 Tyler Toner.

Toner says post fight, "I didn't feel like his punches were hurting me."

Winner: Tyler Toner - 1st Round TKO

7:30, Rani Yahya (15-5) vs. Takeya Mizugaki (12-4-2)

7:35, Rnd 1: Both fighters circle with Mizugaki taking the center of the cage. Mizugaki lands while on the feet and the two are now along the cage with Yahya working hard for a takedown. Now on the mat, Yahya takes Mizugaki's back but Mizugaki manages to stand. The bantamweights are standing and exchanging with Mizugaki having the advantage. Yahya presses the action against the cage but is placed on his back. The round ends with Mizugaki in Yahya's closed guard.

7:40, Rnd 2: Mizugaki takes the center of the cage and Yahya lands a nice body kick as the two exchange. Yahya looks fresh and loose striking as he delivers a nice combination. Mizugaki presses the action along the cage and the two hit the mat with Yahya tying up the action. The referee stands the two up and Mizugaki takes the center pressing the action on the feet. Yahya is bleeding from his left eye and the two are exchanging some heavy strikes in this round. An exciting second round ends with Mizugaki on top.

7:47, Rnd 3: The final frame begins with a nice body kick landed by Mizugaki and Yahya immediately shoots in for a double leg. Yahya is successful with the takedown but he is having difficulty keeping the fight there. The two are standing along the cage with Yahya having his back. Mizugaki throws back elbows and Yahya drags the fight to the mat. Now, Yahya has Mizugaki's back and has both hooks in. Yahya working hard to secure a rear naked choke and Mizugaki is defending very well. Mizugaki hits a nice reversal and is now on top in Yahya's open guard. Not much action as the round ends but the two bantamweights deliver an exciting fight for the fans in attendance. 

Mizuagaki says post fight, "It went just the way I expected."

Winner: Takeya Mizugaki - Judges Decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28)

7:59, Anthony Morrison (15-7) vs. Chad Mendes (6-0)

8:05, Rnd 1: Mendes takes the center of the cage and lands a low kick to begin the round. Mendes flurries and the two are briefly against the cage. Morrison pumps a double jab that finds a home on Mendes's chin. Having enough of the standup game Mendes uses his superior wrestling and takes the action to the mat. With the fight now on the mat Mendes sinks in tight guillotine and the fight is over. Very impressive display of wrestling and solid performance.

FYI: Mendes lives and trains here in Sacramento and receives a huge ovation for his efforts.

Mendes says post fight, "For the last two weeks all I kept going over was the front-headlock guillotine."

Winner: Chad Mendes - Submission (Guillotine)

8:29, Demetrious Johnson (10-0) vs. Brad Pickett (19-4)

8:31, Rnd 1: Johnson lands a low kick and is countered by a Pickett right hand. Both fighters are happy to stand and trade. Johnson throws but is taken down by Pickett and is now pressed up along the cage. Pickett is landing punches from Johnson's open guard but Johnson manages to get back to his feet. The stay on the feet is short lived as Pickett immediately gets the fight back to the mat. Pickett is controlling the action on the ground but Johnson once again manages to get back standing. A huge flying knee by Johnson is met with a even larger slam to the canvas by Pickett.

8:38, Rnd 2: The second stanza begins with a Johnson kick and some serious footwork on display by Johnson. Two minutes in and Pickett tracks Johnson down and manages to get the fight back on the mat where he has the advantage. Johnson is on his back with Pickett now in his half guard. Johnson manages to stand back up and lands a low kick soon after. Pickett presses the action and has Johnson against the cage. Huge takedown by Pickett as he lifts Johnson above his head and slams him to the mat. Pickett transitions into full mount right as the round ends.

8:44, Rnd 3: Both fighters come out with a touch of gloves with Pickett taking the center of the cage but not for long as Johnson lands a double leg. The action on the mat is brief and Pickett stands along the cage. Johnson lands a few knees as his opponent is locked on to a leg, working that same leg Pickett is able to get the fight to the mat. Johnson does what he has done the whole fight and manages to stand back up. Superman punch grazes Pickett and Johnson takes the fight to the ground. However, Pickett reverses and lands a takedown of his own. Moving into side mount, Pickett transitions beautifully into full mount. Johnson manages to get his opponent into his half guard and then stands. Pickett presses the action against cage as the final rounds ends.

Pickett says post fight, "I swear I popped my collar bone in the second round."

Winner: Brad Pickett - Judges Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

9:02, Alex Karalexis (10-4) vs. Anthony Pettis (8-1) 

9:05, Rnd 1: Karalexis takes the center and throws a low kick that misses. Pettis is showing good footwork and lands standing. Karalexis is rocked and grabs ahold of Pettis along the cage. Pettis escapes and is circling on the feet. Head kick by Pettis grazes Karalexis and Karalexis uses it to take the fight to the mat. Karalexis lands a few strikes while there but Pettis gets back to his feet. Low kick by Pettis lands and Karalexis seems to be having trouble closing the distance which is opening up the Pettis leg kicks. Karalexis manages to press the action against the cage but Pettis breaks and lands several punishing leg kicks. Pettis is showing some serious power in his kicks.

9:11, Rnd 2: Karalexis comes out ultra aggressive this round and fifteen seconds in takes the fight to the ground. Karalexis lands a few shots and Pettis reverses the position to get back to his feet. A Karalexis takedown lands him in Pettis's guard and Pettis transitions into a well executed triangle choke. Pettis tightens the hold, lands strikes and Karalexis is forced to tap out. Outstanding performance by Anthony Pettis who stakes his place in the lightweight division.

Pettis says post fight, "Dana White said we get $65,000 for KO of the night so I went for a few of those kicks. I didn't finish those but I still envisioned a win and got it."

Winner: Anthony Pettis - Submission (Triangle Choke)

9:30 , Leonard Garcia (17-5-1) vs. Chan Sung Jung  (10-1)

9:34, Rnd 1: Jung Sung takes the center of the cage and Garcia throws heavy leather but misses. Garcia is circling and looking to counter. Both fighters are swinging for the fences and putting on a show for the mma world. Extremely heavy shots land for both fighters and the action is briefly stopped against the cage. Now separated, the two start right where they left off by throwing heavy shots. Sung Jung drops Garcia but is briefly caught in a submission by Garcia. Sung Jung breaks free and is standing above the downed Garcia. Garcia stands and the two exchange combinations. Sung Jung lands a low blow that goes unseen by the referee as the round ends.

9:40, Rnd 2: Touch of gloves by Garcia and punishing strikes follow shortly thereafter. Sung Jung and Garcia throw heavy strikes with Garcia getting the advantage. Takedown attempt by Garcia is unsuccessful but it gives the two an opportunity for a much needed breath of air as the two stop along the cage. Takedown by Sung Jung is successful and he transitions to the back. However, Garcia reverses the position and gets back to his feet. Front kick lands for Sung Jung and Garcia circles away from his counterpart. Knees from the clinch land for Sung Jung and knocks Garcia's mouthpiece out. The referee gives Garcia his mouthpiece back and he immediately stalks Sung Jung and they exchange.

9:47, Rnd 3: Sung Jung begins the round by taking the center of the cage but Garcia is the aggressor of the two. Head kick for Garcia grazes his opponent but he follows with two low kicks that find a home. Sung Jung stands with his hands on his hips and Garcia attacks. Sung Jung appears worn by the pace but throws a heavy left hand and a low kick. Garcia counters with a low kick of his own and another follows right behind. Body kick lands for Garcia and Sung Jung returns the favor by landing a combination against the cage. Both fighters exchange heavy strikes as the round ends. If you are watching along at home you were treated by a thrilling fight for all fifthteen minutes.

Garcia says post fight, "I love the UFC and the WEC. I took this fight on three weeks notice and I did this. My job is to fight hard so the fans enjoy this."

Winner: Leonard Garcia - Judges Decision (29-28 Garcia, 29-28 Jung, 29-28 Garcia)

10:06, Scott Jorgensen (9-3) vs. Antonio Banuelos (18-5)

10:10, Rnd 1: Touch of gloves to begin the round and Jorgensen takes the center of the cage. Flurry by Banuelos lands but Jorgensen stalks his opponent back down. Takedown attempt by Jorgensen is unsuccessful but he does manage to tie up the action for a moment. Both fighters are throwing heavy strikes early on. Banuelos rocks Jorgensen with a solid punch and drops him to the canvas where he attacks. Jorgensen is showing an active guard throws up multiple submission attempts and gets back to his feet. Jorgensen stalks his opponent and initiates a clinch but the fighters break quickly. Body kick lands by Banuelos and a spinning back kick follows as the round ends.

10:17, Rnd 2: Head kick from Jorgensen is blocked by Banuelos and the two continue to stand and throw strikes. Banuelos is bleeding from his nose and Jorgensen lands a combination along the cage. Straight right hand lands for Jorgensen and his opponent returns with a body kick. Jorgensen continues to take the center of the cage but Banuelos lands a solid right hand. Jorgensen seems unfazed by that punch and returns with combination. Banuelos circles and is hit with a solid right hand that drops him to the canvas. Jorgensen jumps on him and takes his back, Banuelos stands and Jorgensen greets him with a knee. Banuelos flurries as the round ends.

10:23, Rnd 3: Jorgensen takes the center and Banuelos throws a heavy overhand right but it doesn't find its mark. Jorgensen circles and is looking to press the action. Low kick by Banuelos lands and is countered by a Jorgensen right hand. Banuelos circles but Jorgensen stays in attack mode. The action halts briefly and Jorgensen lands a heavy punch that drops Banuelos. Jorgensen attacks and takes the back sinking in both hooks. Banuelos is showing good defense against a choke but he's on the receiving end of several punches. Jorgensen sinks in a choke and Banuelos throws punches behind his head trying to land on Jorgensen as the round ends.

Jorgensen says post fight, "I hit him with some shots in the second round and third rounds and I was able to get on top of him."

Winner: Scott Jorgensen - Judges Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

10:31, Shane Roller (7-2) vs. Anthony Njokuani (13-2)

10:35, Rnd 1: Roller takes the center and immediately looks the take the fight to the mat and does. However, Njokuani gets back to his feet and it's brief as Roller gets the action back to the ground. Roller transitions into back control and sinks in a body lock on his opponent. Njokuani is defending well but Roller continues to work hard for the submission. Njokuani cannot get out of the hold and is forced to tap to a rear naked choke.

Roller says post fight, "A lot of people underestimated me. Hopefully this solidified that I'm the No. 1 contender in this division and I'm ready for the title shot."

Winner: Shane Roller - Submission (Rear Naked Choke)

10:48, Manny Gamburyan (12-5) vs. Mike Brown (23-5)

10:50, Rnd 1: Brown starts the round by taking the center of the cage and pumps a jab. Gamburyan circles and Brown throws a heavy right hand but it misses. Gamburyan throws a combination but Brown is unfazed. Brown continues to control the middle of the cage and Gamburyan misses with a uppercut. Body kick lands for Gamburyan and Brown stalks his opponent. Brown throws a right hand and is countered by a Gamburyan right hand of his own that sends Brown to the canvas. Gamburyan follows up with strikes and the fight is stopped by the referee.

Manny says post fight, "This is a special day and I knew I wasn't going to lose."

Winner: Manny Gamburyan - Knockout

11:20, Co-Main Event of the Night: Lightweight Championship of the WEC

11:21, Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone (11-2, 1 NC) vs. Ben Henderson (11-1)

11:25, Rnd 1: A touch of gloves starts off the re-match and Henderson lands a low kick. Cerrone takes the center of the cage and lands a low kick of his own. Henderson takes advantage of the kick by Cerrone, grabs the leg, and presses Cerrone against the cage. Henderson lands several knees to Cerrone while he has his back standing and cuts the challenger. Cerrone spins and the fight hits the ground with Henderson having the advantage. Cerrone reverses and tries to take Henderson down but the champion latches on to a extremely tight guillotine as the two hit the mat as forces a Cerrone tapout.

Winner: Ben Henderson - Submission (Guillotine)

11:45, Main Event of the Night: Featherweight Championship of the World

11:50, Urijah Faber (23-3) vs. Jose Aldo (16-1)

11:55, Rnd 1: Touch of gloves begin the fight and Faber throws a front kick. Faber throws a feint and Aldo responds with a low kick. Aldo sends Faber to the mat via leg sweeping low kick and Faber pops back up. Aldo takes the center of the cage and Urijah shoots but is unsuccessful. Both fighters circle and Faber flurries but nothing significant lands for the challenger. Aldo throws a low kick and Faber avoids it completely. Solid knee to the body lands for the champion and Faber backs out. Faber may be the more active fighter so far in round one and he throws a combination as the round ends.

12:04, Rnd 2: Faber comes out aggressive throwing combinations and showing the champion plenty of angles. Aldo tracks him down and lands a heavy body kick along the cage. The champion continues to take the center of the cage and throws a flying knee that misses. Low kick by champion is successful and Faber is beginning to switch stances. It may be part of the gameplan but it could also be because of the heavy low kicks by the champion. Another low kick lands for the champion and they circle. Faber throws a front kick and Aldo responds with strike of his own that lands. Faber avoids a low from the champion this time but he limps back to his corner.

12:11, Rnd 3: Aldo starts the round off with a low kick but Faber avoids and the two circle. Faber continues to switch stances and Aldo lands a heavy low kick. Aldo throws and lands a body kick. Aldo throws and lands a low kick but Faber takes him down because of it. Faber is unable to keep the fight there and the champion connects with a head kick and a big combination along the cage. Aldo can't finish the fight and Faber escapes out of the position. The champion lands another low kick that wobbles Faber. Aldo has slowed Faber down quite a bit and lands a hard body punch. The champion follows up and drops Faber as the round ends. Faber's cornerman picks him up and carries him to the corner.

12:17, Rnd 4: Both fighters touch gloves to begin the round and Aldo backs Faber along the cage. Aldo pumps a jump and closes the distance of the challenger. The champion lands a kick that buckles Faber and sends him to the mat. Faber attempts a takedown and Aldo takes his back. Aldo is looking for a rear naked choke but Faber reverses. Aldo throws and lands a leg kick that sends Faber back to the canvas and the champion takes advantage. Aldo is now in side control and places the challenger in a crucifex position. Faber can't get out of the position and Aldo is raining down punches from top position. The round ends with Aldo in top control landing strikes.

12:23, Rnd 5: The final round sees both fighters testing the waters on the feet but neither throwing much leather. Faber shoots and is unsuccessful. The champion continues to take the center of cage and Faber throws a body kick but it doesn't do much damage. Another Faber shot fails and the champion lands another kick this time to Faber's leg. The action slows a bit and Faber shoots but again is unsuccessful. This time he's on his back with Aldo towering above. Body kick from the bottom lands but doesn't do any damage. Aldo backs out and walks away as the round ends. Dominating performance by the champion and leg kicks were a definate factor in this championship fight.

Winner: Jose Aldo - Judges Decision (49-45, 49-45, 50-45)
