Auburn Football 2010: Match-Ups That Matter, Arkansas State
During the dead time this summer I thought some fans might be interested in looking at some matchups that matter for the 2010 season. The obvious place to start is in the first game of the season with Arkansas State.
In this first game there are really no major matchups that will make a difference. The high point of the 2009 season for Arkansas State was a three point loss to Iowa. They did not play a really good offense in 2009.
Arkansas State was 4-8 in 2009 with wins over Mississippi Valley State, Florida International University, North Texas and Western Kentucky. There were no common opponents for these two teams in 2009.
With only four days after this game to prepare for Mississippi State, expect Auburn to put this game away early and play deep into the depth chart. It is a good game to work out wrinkles before the SEC season starts.
Here is a look at some of the 2009 statistics and rankings for each team.
