With the final games of the regular season just two days away, it’s time for the finale of the Bleacher Report NBA Power Rankings with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic atop the leader board.
But the beasts of the East appear to be limited to those two teams when looking at the best in the NBA, with squads in the West ranging from the LA Lakers to the San Antonio Spurs rounding out the top-10...
1. Cleveland (Last Week: 1)
The Cavaliers, owning the best record in the NBA with 61 victories, have lost three games in a row. But never underestimate LeBron James and the Cavs come playoff time; and with the LeBron lottery right around the corner, this summer should be quite interesting in the NBA.
2. Orlando (LW: 2)
The Magic are currently riding a five-game winning streak heading into their regular season finale. Orlando, the Southeast division winner, is 9-1 over its last 10 home games and 8-2 over its last 10 on the road.
3. LA Lakers (LW: 3)
The Los Angeles Lakers, the best in the West with 56 wins, are currently struggling—garnering just four victories out of their last 10 games. But come NBA Playoffs, everyone knows you can never overlook Kobe Bryant and company.
4. Dallas (LW: 8)
The Mavericks are currently riding a four-game winning streak and hold a 7-3 record over their last 10 games. Dallas, the Southwest division regular season champions, looks to continue its win streak into the playoffs with a win over San Antonio in the season finale.
5. Utah (LW: 6)
Over their last 10 games at home, the Utah Jazz own a perfect 10-0 record. Carlos Boozer and his teammates are looking to carry some momentum into the postseason, as Utah finished 7-3 over its last 10 games.
6. Denver (LW: 5)
Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets, 6-4 over their last 10 games, have been solid at home lately—winning eight of their last 10 games in Colorado.
7. Phoenix (LW: 4)
The Suns are 8-2 over their last 10 games and have won seven straight at home. With 52 wins and just two games remaining in the regular season, Phoenix looks to enter the playoffs on a hot streak.
8. Atlanta (LW: 7)
The Hawks, one-time division leaders earlier this season, are still playoff-bound and are currently riding a three-game winning streak. Atlanta has also won 11 in a row at home while going 6-4 over their last 10 games.
9. Portland (LW: 13)
Portland and their fans have to be happy in 2010, as the Trailblazers have blazed to 50 wins and counting heading into the season finale. They have also won two straight and are 8-2 over their last 10 games.
10. San Antonio (LW: 9)
The Spurs round out the regular season power rankings' top-10, holding a 50-31 record heading into the last game of the year. San Antonio, 8-2 over its last 10 home games, has won two in a row.
11. Boston (LW: 10)
The Celtics, Atlantic division regular season champs, enter their final two games of the year with a 50-30 record. Boston holds 6-4 records over its last 10 games at home and on the road.
12. Oklahoma City (LW: 11)
Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder will be facing Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers in round one of postseason play. The Thunder rumble to a 49-32 record heading into their regular season finale.
13. Milwaukee (LW: 14)
The Bucks hold a trio of 6-4 records—taking six wins in their last 10 games at home, last 10 on the road, and last 10 overall.
14. Miami (LW: 12)
The Miami Heat enter the NBA Playoffs as winners of two straight and are 9-1 over their last 10 home games.
15. Charlotte (LW: 15)
Charlotte will be entering postseason play in the East on a roll. They are winners of nine of their last 10 games overall.
16. Chicago (LW: 17)
The Bulls are on the verge of becoming the number eight seed in the East, going 6-4 over their last 10 games.
17. Houston (LW: 19)
The Houston Rockets will be on the outside looking in this postseason, regardless of a winning record and 42 wins heading into the season finale. Houston is 6-4 over its last 10 games.
18. Memphis (LW: 16)
Memphis is in a similar boat to Houston, although the Grizzlies are aiming for a .500 record with a win in their season finale. Memphis, however, has gone 2-8 over its last 10 games.
19. Toronto (LW: 18)
Toronto may also be on the outside looking in come playoff time, sitting a game behind the Chicago Bulls with just two days remaining in the regular season. The Raptors are 4-6 over their last 10 games.
20. New Orleans (LW: 20)
New Orleans has had a disappointing season, sitting in the cellar in the Southwest division, while holding a 3-7 record over its last 10 games.
21. Indiana (LW: 21)
Indiana has finished the season strong, going 8-2 over its last 10 games at home, while holding a 7-3 mark over its last 10 overall.
22. Golden State (LW: 24)
Golden State, 3-7 over its last 10 games on the road, has just 25 wins on the season, despite going 6-4 over its last 10 games overall.
23. New York (LW: 22)
Tracy McGrady and the New York Knicks hold a 6-4 record over their last 10 games and are aiming for win number 30 of the year in their regular season finale.
24. LA Clippers (LW: 26)
The LA Clippers are 2-8 over their last 10 games, and have won just once out of their last 10 road games.
25. Philadelphia (LW: 23)
The 76ers, holding a 27-54 record, are 3-7 over their last 10 games and are just 2-8 over their last 10 home games.
26. Washington (LW: 28)
The Wizards are in the cellar in the Southeat, going 4-6 over their last 10 games and losing two in a row.
27. Detroit (LW: 25)
The Pistons are in last place in the central division, going 3-7 over their last 10 games.
28. Sacramento (LW: 27)
Carl Landry and the Sacramento Kings have lost two straight and are just 1-9 over their last 10 games.
29. New Jersey (LW: 29)
The Nets are one again, and no longer cellar-dwellers in the Bleacher Report NBA Power Rankings, holding a .500 record over their last 10 home games and going 4-6 over their last 10 games overall.
30. Minnesota (LW: 30)
Minnesota has lost six straight entering the final game of the regular season while going 1-9 over their last 10 games overall and holding a winless record over their last 10 games on the road.
