This article is a response to an article written a few days ago labelled "Arsenal Can't Win the Premier League with Arsene Wenger." As a result of this I thought I would share my views on why Arsenal can and will win the league under Wenger.

Arsenal under Arsene Wenger have won the Premier league before.

1997-1998 Arsene Wenger's first full season with Arsenal. Man United looked favourites to win the league with an eleven point gap on Arsenal albeit they had played three more games, Arsenal went on an amazing run and not only ended up winning the league but the F.A Cup as well. Wenger had become the third non English Manager to win the league and the first Manager from outside the UK.

2001-2002 Tony Adam's and Lee Dixon's last season proved to be comfortable one with Arsenal winning the league by seven points from Liverpool in second. Arsenal became the first team to score in all 38 games and also became the first side to go a whole Premier League season without losing away from home.

2003-2004 As most Arsenal fans will agree no words can quite describe the feat achieved in this season. Arsenal went the whole season without a single defeat the first team to do so since Preston North End 115 years earlier. Arsene Wenger described it as "immortality" and who can argue.

Loyalty and Belief

Not many managers would have stood by some of the players that Arsene has, the likes of Song, Eboue and Bendtner come to mind. When the fans lost belief in these players Wenger stood by them believing himself that they would one day prove him right and instilling them with an inner confidence that has made this team so mentally strong.

Song has become one of the top defensive midfielders in the country. Eboue has become a so called "God" to some Arsenal Fans and gives the team some impetus when we seem to be complacent and  Bendtner who has had some shocking misses but he has since scored a hat trick against Porto and scored two 94th minute winners keeping our title hopes alive.

Transfer Genius

Wenger is renowned as a master when it comes to buying hidden gems. Vermaelen is the latest of these but in the past two years we have had the likes of Arshavin, Nasri and Ramsey bought for very little for how good these four players are.

It is not only buying that Wenger seems to be good at but he has a knack for selling players at the right time for the right price. Kolo Toure and Adebayor were both sold for a combined fee of 40 million and also relieving tension within the group between Gallas and Toure And Bendtner and Adebayor. This seems to have worked wonders for the morale of the team.

The Conveyor Belt of Players

Arsene's policy of bringing through youth players has finally come to fruition with the likes of Song, Clichy, Fabregas, Ramsey and Wilshere. There are many good talents still in the youth teams players like Benik Afobe, Sanchez Watt and Jay Emmanuel Thomas to name a few.

This policy has ensured that Arsenal do not need to buy many players but only buy those exceptional talents to supplement the home grown talent.

In the short term though those players who have stepped up since the start of the year are Aaron(get well soon) Ramsey until his injury, Jack Wilshere who has been playing very well at Bolton, Kieran Gibbs was looking extremely sure at the back until a needless tackle against Olympiakos ended his season prematurely and finally Craig Eastmond who has played a few games for the first team this season putting in decent performance.

We have still got a chance this year.

I can understand the view that Chelsea have regained their form and look unbeatable at the moment, however Chelsea have usually followed a big win with a dip in form.

Manchester United look in my eyes anyway likely to go out of Europe and if they do not win at the weekend they will be an almost certainty to not win the league.

Finally Us we have an easier run in but that means almost nothing at this time of the year we have been the best team this year at beating the teams we should, Arsenal are also on a run of eight games without a defeat.

Arsenal have also developed one very important trait this season in scoring late and never giving up we have scored more late goals than any other team.

All we can do is win all our games and hope that Chelsea and Man United drop enough points. And remember that we are also in the champions league and although it isn't quite the league I would still take it an day of the Week.
