For some time there has been a debate going on in the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community) as to whether Randy Orton is a true heel, I hop this article solves the debate once and for all. Randy Orton is not a True Heel, He is in fact a babyface.

To begin with we have to have a working definition for what a true heel is because today we have a kind of "he's a face, He's a heel" mentality. A True Heel in my estimation is someone who, no matter who he is facing, makes the other guy the face in that particular fight, or at least has the crowd on his opponents side.

Let's use this definition and apply it to some of Randy's matches of late, look no further than the elimination chamber, where Randy was in the Ring with at least 3 (Triple H, John Cena, Kofi) big time faces, but there were still "RKO, RKO" chants, thats at least a small indicator of how over Randy is with the crowd, every crowd. This could be attributed to the PPV being in St.Louis but let's look at another example.

Randy against Sheamus, this short feud (that may be continued) saw Randy as the overwhelming fan favorite, that alone violates the above definition as he should have put Sheamus in at least a more tweener light (as Sheamus is a minor heel), Instead the crowd goes nuts for Randy, and cheers when he uses the very tactics that got him over as a heel in 2007 (running in and RKOing Sheamus while Sheamus is in a match).

The bottom line is Randy is a face, at least a tweener. He does nothing now that makes the crowd hate him, they love him. Furthermore, every time he is in a heel vs. heel match, he becomes the face. If this doesn't convince you, I've placed a list below that are a couple hypothetical matches, tell me that Randy isn't the Face in each match:

Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho

Randy Orton vs. Ezekiel Jackson

Randy Orton vs. Batista

Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes
