Hulk Hogan Wrestling on March 8: Bad Decision by TNA

The Doctor Chris MuellerFeb 17, 2010

Hulk Hogan will be making his TNA in-ring debut on March 8 when Impact goes head to head with Raw for the second time this year. This will not turn out well.

Hogan is a legend in the wrestling business; no one will deny that. And some could even argue that he single-handedly brought wrestling to a more mainstream audience.

Without Hogan we would have never had some of the best moments in wrestling history.  Slamming Andre The Giant at Wrestlemania, turning on WCW and joining the NWO, Thunderlips, slamming Yokozuna, and teaming with Randy Savage are just some of his career highlights.

But now the man who once seemed invincible is about to show the world just how quickly the mighty can fall.

Hogan underwent major surgery on his back last year, and on his Australian tour he was not even able to perform his signature leg drop. This is not a man who should be wrestling.

I get that Hogan wrestling on American soil for the first time in a few years could be seen as a big deal, but this guy has made more comebacks than Madonna. I don't know if Hogan has the drawing power he once had.

Since leaving the wrestling business full time, Hogan has been referred to as a glutton for fame.  He has had two of his own reality shows and has appeared all over his daughter's show as well.

Along with a bunch of his buddies, I think Hogan is trying for one last shot at glory. But does he need it?

Hogan could have stayed retired in 1996 and he would still be one of the biggest names in wrestling history. I think Hogan is actually tarnishing his legacy by agreeing to wrestle for TNA, not because it's TNA, but because it's Hogan in 2010.

I hope I am wrong and Hogan has some kind of plan to make himself still look good, but I just don't see it happening that way.

Do you think Hogan will be good to go in the ring or will he embarrass himself?
