Is Shawn Michaels the Only Logical Opponent for the Undertaker at WM 26

Guys, this is my first article, so please comment and give your views for or against it. WM-26 is coming and so is a match involving The Undertaker. However, this year he might end up facing HBK again, as he is the only logical opponent for the Deadman. Let's analyze the complete WWE roster and see if we can get any other logical, and possible, opponent other than HBK.

First, Let's Look at the Raw Roster

Now let's see, The Undertaker will either face a main eventer or an upcoming midcarder from RAW and here is a list of those superstars.

1. BIG SHOW - This match is highly impossible considering the fact that the two have already met and also a feud between them will be impossible to initiate as both of them are on separate brands.

2. CODY RHODES - He, too, is an upcoming midcarder but I don't think that the Vince would book such a competition as he is the least developed member of Legacy.

3. JACK SWAGGER - This match is impossible as Swagger is most probably going to be in the MITB and a feud between them is not possible.

4. JOHN CENA - This match is not going to happen as he has been involved in a feud with Batista, and it is also expected that the match be a Tag-Team watch with the involvement of Bret and Vince.

5. KOFI KINGSTON - He would surely make a good opponent but WWE has given up pushing him and he too might end up with the MITB this year.

6. MIZ - He, too, would make a good opponent for the Deadman but a match is highly impossible as the WWE would not want to cause a setback in this budding main eventer's career by making him wrestle and lose the URTKR.

7. MVP - He is already involved in a feud with the MIZ, and secondly he is the least developed mid-carder hence not a possible opponent.

8. RANDY ORTON - He would surely make a logical opponent but has already been booked to face Ted DiBiase at WM hence he is out of the picture.

9. HBK - High degree of possibility as he is not involved in any feud right now and neither is he in the EC match so he is my pick.

10. Sheamus - Would make a good opponent but the match is not possible because Sheamus would either end up facing HHH for the WWE TITLE {please Vince, Sheamus should not be champion heading into WM} or will be facing a mid-carder so he is automatically written off.

11. HHH - Would make a great opponent but it is highly unlikely that the two are going to wrestle at WM as he is expected to fight for WWE GOLD at WM.

12. Ted DiBiase- He is already booked to face Orton, so not a possible opponent for URTKR.

So, out of 12 wrestlers the only logical opponents possible are Cena (already booked to face Batista), Kofi AND MIZ (but both not possible opponents), Orton (already booked), and HHH (expected to fight for or defend WWE GOLD at WM).

So the only superstar left from the Raw brand is HBK, who is both a logical and possible opponent.

Now, Let's Look at the SD Brand

Now lets look at the main eventers and mid-carders on the SD brand.

1. BATISTA - He would make a logical and possible opponent but is already booked in the whole Vince-Bret-Cena thing so is written off. But like Cena he would make a great opponent.

2. Y2J - He would make the best opponent for the Deadman at WM but a match between the two is highly illogical due to the fact that he is in feud with Edge, which WWE will try to make a memorable one, so he too is not available to face the URTKR at WM.

3. CM PUNK- Another wrestler who would make a great opponent but then WWE is thinking of pitting him against Mysterio. So that puts him out of the race to face The Undertaker.

4. DOLPH ZIGGLER - The match is simply impossible as Ziggler just made it to my list of mid-carders on SD and is most likely to participate in the MITB at WM.

5. DREW McINTYRE - This could be similar to the Orton-Taker match at WM-21 as this would give him a huge push as a good performance by him would surely elevate him but WWE would not want him to face the Undertaker in just his first WM appearance as he still has a lot to learn.

6. Edge - Let me assure you that this will not happen due to the following two reasons.

1- The last two Royal Rumble winners have failed to win at WM and WWE is looking to ensure that this year the winner of the rumble goes on to win at WM.
2- If Edge were to win, then it would mean that the Undertaker would have to looe which is not possible as in the first place the WWE wants to keep the reign unbroken and also if it were to be broken, then Edge would not be the one to break it.

7. John Morrison- This match is also not going to happen as the WWE has/is decided/expected to give him his first reign as WORLD CHAMPION this year by making him win the MITB so he is out of the picture.

8. Kane - Lets just say that the only reason why he is in this list is because he is a mid-carder on SD but Taker Vs. Kane III is never going to happen

9. Matt Hardy - This match is not going to happen as the WWE would not want a face to wrestle Taker and also Hardy currently does not have the elite standing in the SD brand roster which he otherwise deserves and is most likely to end up in the MITB. He is not even in the EC match.

10. MYSTERIO - This match to is not going to happen as WWE is looking for a Punk-Mysterio match at WM, and the two of them just squared of at the Rumble so this match too is not going to happen.

As it is being said that the ECW brand is going to be shutdown and all wrestlers released but the only wrestler out of the ECW brand who has the status to challenge Taker is Christian but that match too is impossible.

Even though it would make a good match, the WWE would not want to challenge Taker and also to build up a feud between the two of them will take a lot out of the creative team.

So, all of the above wrestlers are booked and therefore, all the SD superstars are out of the equation to face Taker at the grandest stage of them all.

Conclusion

So we might just end up seeing HBK vs. Taker II this year because all other logical opponents are written off because of being booked in other story lines.
