J.R. "Ego" Ferguson, a four-star defensive linemen out of Hargrave Military Academy (Va.) has chosen LSU over offers from Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Miami, and Florida State.
Ferguson, a highly touted trench player known for his motor and impressive frame, settled on the Tigers after a grueling year of recruiting for the high school senior.
Although he was recruited as a defensive end, don't be surprised if "Ego" ends up in the middle of the trenches as a tackle. He has the speed and agility to play the edge, but he has the potential to add enough weight to anchor the line and stuff the run.
Coming out of the prep school Hargrave Military Academy, a national powerhouse, there is no reason to not see Ferguson on the field early and often. However, he needs to hit the weight room in order to fill out his frame before reaching his full potential.
When he does hit that potential, watch out.
You're looking at a future professional football player. The kid even has the nickname for the league.
