A Little Review To ECW. How Would You Rename and Re-Push The Brand?

Ever since ECW One Night Stand in 2006 it seemed the old school ECW was gonna return, well in they´re first day´s as a WWE "brand" they had a really nice run. Of course it wasnpt the ORIGINAL ECW, just because guys like The Sandman, Sabu, RVD, Tommy Dreammer were part of the show it wasn´t and I belive would never be the same show.

As the weeks traspired the concept of the Extreme was just used as a catch phrase to tune Scy-Fy every tuesday night, the matches were more wrestling than the Extreme Wrestling ECW used to be.

Paul Heyman said at ONS: "We are not Monday night Raw, we will not be friday night SD, we are better we are ECW!!!". Well for at least three or maybe four months they really were, mixing great new talent with the old one, inspiring the ECW fans to attend the arenas and tune in every tuesday night.

But then WWE just screw it, Kurt Angle was so pissed having to be in a brand like ECW and just having a low spot while guys like John Cena were main eventing every single PPV, he just left WWE for TNA. Then they screwed RVD so hard he left to. And then the other originals just didn´t found themselfs in a company such as the WWE, they were and will always be for the aundience not for the business.

Almost 4 years have past, and now ECW no longer stands for: Extreme Championship Wrestling. It has become the home of the new talent in the WWE. Belive it or not I really like ECW some day´s, they really create a sence of interest by having new talent and new feuds, but the fact is the show doesn´t bring good ratings, and the audience usually stays silent on the shows cause they are used to pay for big stars like Cena, Batista, HBK. Triple H, not to see guys like Barreta, Washington, Archer.

They are really nice talent and who knows maybe in the future they will be the next Triple H or the next HBK, but right now they arent´s so that´s a reason why fans don´t tune ECW, cause they really don´t care.

Right now the whole brand is being carried by Christian who is doing a great job, but I really think he deserves a bigger push in the company as a WHC or even a WWE champion, he has really earned, but with that in mind ECW would just be a FCW in a larger arena that´s it.

WWE really made a wise move by having taped both ECW/SD or ECW/Raw cause belive me if ECW would go alone the arenas would never be full.

I think WWE is heading the right way by changing the brands direction and leavoing the ECW name, cause indeed they really messed up the product.

What ECW needs are some new stars fresh faces on the roster. Guys like Batista or even a John Cena would be very good for the show. A chance of good change would be the upcoming Draft, but the thinh with that is WWE really looks like they don´t care about the brand, in the past Draft´s they have just destroyed the roster for ECW.

Starting with the name is a good start, but not good enough if if WWE wants the brand to survive. The ratings are getting every week lower and lower, the fact WWE Superstars is getting higher ratings has to be alarming for WWE officials.

So now the question is set for you WWE fans, WWE Universe how would you rename and re-push the brand?
