Tiger Woods: Are You Surprised That He Is Just Like Us

Ok call me out on this one. I'm ready to hear the self righteous crowd try to bombard me with conservative rhetoric. Unfortunately for you, I'm not gonna hear it. 

As the Tiger Woods saga drags on, it's more and more apparent to me that Tiger is just one of us guys. How, you say? Why, you say? It's all within the details of this crazy tripped out saga. 

Not to make light of a sad story for his family because I'm sure they are confused. Also, this is a public relations meltdown of epic proportions. But one thing remains true to the bone: Tiger Woods is just like us. How, you say? Let me give my read on this.

Tell us Tiger, did you "wear it out" like you said you were gonna in your text? With the notches on his bed post at roughly 14, I'm a little envious. Who knew Tiger had it in him? It seemed no female persuasion was safe from Eldrick. Whether it be a flapjack flippin' waitress or a knock out VIP manager, Tiger is the man with the ladies!

You see, we all followed Tiger with the concentration of a Buddhist monk over the years and fell in love with him. Tiger was the person us average Joe's could look at and say, "Man, if I only..."

It made us think that near perfection was attainable. Here was a man so focused that made us think there might be hope for us.

Ahhh, not so much.

This story proves to me that we, as sports fans, need to be careful who we live vicariously through. How many men have cheated on their wives? Millions! How many Tiger Woods have cheated? One. The only one there is.

For this reason he is going to get lambasted and bent over. That's ok. He should have been a little smarter...ok, a lot smarter. But when I listened to that voice mail to one of his quadrillion escorts, I couldn't help but feel Tiger was in just a little over his head.

How many times have we wished we could take back words?

I challenge the men out there to call me crazy. Tiger Woods is the envy of many men right now. Why?  Hot, Hot, Hot ladies, a crazy golf career (he will return with a vengeance), Billions of dollars, Yachts, Homes, etc. I know it's not what you want to hear, but how many of you guys are thinking, "Man, give me a weekend with Tiger and I'll come home a new Man?"

Listen, I feel for his wife and Kids. His sponsors will get over it. Think about this: What if Tiger never got caught cheating? With fourteen and counting, where could we be in a few years?

I wish Tiger the best. I hope he gets to where he needs to be, personally. I hope he can reconcile his actions and take care of his kids. I hope to see him back on the course where he will be a demon in red shirt, taking no prisoners. But, most importantly, us guys wanna know, Did you wear it out?
