As 2010, begins so does the road to WrestleMania XXVI. So it is that time of year when WWE fans consider the main event players and wonder how they will fit into the show.

Many people wonder who will take on the Streak this year. Will Edge return in time and how will Orton prove that he really is God?

However, the key question is actually being completely missed: How will the WWE use their top guy, VKM's favourite superstar and the kids' hero...that's right, Hornswoggle.

Firstly, January brings with it the prestigious Royal Rumble and I put it to you that Hornswoggle is the favourite to win.

He is getting great exposure, is wildly over with the core fans and it about time the company's top draw got a title push. Assuming he wins, let's consider his possible opponents.

Hornswoggle vs. Sheamus: WWE Championship

This is the main event Ireland is dreaming of. I see this as a lumberjack match with the lumberjacks being all those overexposed, overpushed superstars that these two have cleanly pinned on their way to the top; Chavo, Shelton Benjamin, Goldust, the list is endless ...

Hornswoggle vs John Cena: WWE Championship

This would be Hogan vs. Warrior all over again, the two most universally popular wrestlers in the world going at it.

With the technical prowess of these two it would have to be an Iron Man Match, with the winner getting the chance to be champion and join the VKM "kiss my ass club."

Hornswoggle vs Batista: World Heavyweight Championship

Assuming the Animal is champion come Mania, I see this match as perfect to further his brilliant new gimmick, the "I only wrestle small guys otherwise I get injured" heel persona.

It's not so much the match that excites me, it's the endless promo possibilities with these great speakers battling over the mic.

Hornswoggle vs ??: ECW Championship

It is WWE law that as soon as Swoggle holds a championship belt it immediately becomes defunct. If the rumours of the end of ECW are true this historic belt deserves to go out on the grandest stage of them all, and what better way to do it.

However, the versaility of Hornswoggle talent is such that if some undeserving guy such as Jericho, Morrison or Edge were to fluck a Royal Rumble win, there is still so much Swoggle has to offer.

Streak vs. Beard match: vs Undertaker

Many say Taker vs. HBK could not be surpassed and indeed it was greatness in a ring. But can you imagine the raw excitement of the crowd if Taker somehow managed to kick out of the Tadpole Splash only to be caught with a Sweet Shin Music heard around the world!

Cruiserweight Championship match

Most of us hope this great title returns and who better to reignite it than the greatest cruiserweight champion of all time. Hornswoggle has gone undefeated as Cruiserweight champion for years, not even breaking sweet in his defense of it.

However, my problem is with a roster like Mysterio, Bourne, Kidd, Rhodes, Carlito, I just dont see a genuine rival for Swoggle.

Money In The Bank

This is often thought of as Benjamin's match, however, this is another example of the WWE's unrelenting push of Benjamin detracting from someone with genuine in-ring ability and high-flying creativity.

For years, Hornswoggle has been taking bumps from Kennedy, inventing new weapons such as the step ladder and even shown ultimate altruism in his pursuit of the briefcase for the sake of his father. It about time he had his moment on top of that ladder.

Whatever route the company takes, the top babyface will surely delight us with brilliance at WrestleMania XXVI. Heres to 2010, the year of the Swoggle!
