Arsenal : Who Do We Really Need?

A lot of players have been linked with us in the last two months—I can't even remember how many! The truth is that Arsenal really need only two to three more quality players to have a strong squad and compete on all fronts.

The two or three are over and above Aaron Ramsey and the impending arrival of Samir Nasri. (And account for the impending departure of Alexander Hleb)

Here we go..

1. Andrei Arshavin (Zenit St.Petersburg)- He plays in the typical "Number 10" or the "Bergkamp" position in my opinion—ie. behind the strikers, makes some superb runs and has a picture of what's happening around him.

He is also quick and has excellent technical ability and if reports are to be believed, we are interested in him (along with 60 other players). But more interestingly—he is available for around 10 million pounds.

According to me, he's a bargain and has the right mentality to be a hit in any Premier League club.

2. Yaya Toure (Barcelona) - He plays in the typical "Makelele" position or is a defense-minded midfielder. He's got a decent passing range, scores a few goals and has an incredible engine.

I would love to see him unite with his brother Kolo at Arsenal, but Pep Guardiola has signalled his intentions to keep him at the Camp Nou so that could well be a potential stumbling block for us.

We've already lost Flamini and with the impending departure of Alex Hleb to Barcelona, I feel that we should play hardball with Barcelona and make them offer Yaya as part of any deal which would take Hleb to the Camp Nou.

Other Possibilities: I feel that we can even go for Thorsten Frings or Miguel Veloso but the former is too old for a "Wenger Signing" and the latter is far too expensive.

Gokhan Inler of Udinese has also been mooted as a possible signing, but I've seen very little of him.

3. Raul Albiol (Valencia) - A tall, powerful centre-back, Raul Albiol could be a perfect foil for either Toure or Gallas at the back. He seems to be very comfortable on the ball and could be available for as less as five-million pounds—a bargain for such a bright, young defender.

Who do you think Arsenal should sign now that we've seemed to set the ball rolling—and why?
