This is a mock draft for next year. Of course it is way to early, but what the heck it's always fun to project. This is based on records through Week 13 of the NFL season. This does assume that some underclassmen that haven't yet declared will come out. You can bet that this list will change over time and I plan to do more as the draft gets closer. ENJOY!
Cleveland doesn't seem to be happy with their qb situation. This could easily be Jimmy Clausen as well...but they might be a little skeptical of Notre Dame quarterbacks by now.
Probably the best player in the draft. Tampa used to be known for their defense, Suh could help them get back that reputation. Could be a star for years to come.
It's clear that Bulger's days are over. St. Louis has a lot of needs, but I imagine they will be looking for the face of the franchise and Clausen could have the tools to be that.
Lions are another team that has lots of needs. McCoy would immediately be their best defensive lineman, a position that has really struggled for Detroit this year.
Redskins could go after a quarterback here but I look for them to either give Campbell another year or to trade or go after a free agent. The offensive line is average but some are aging so Okung who is the best OL in the draft could be a nice piece for the future.
Teams seem to be passing all over Kansas City this year. Eric Berry could be the next great safety in the mold of Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu.
Bills have given up on Trent Edwards and its seems pretty clear that Fitzpatrick is not a true starter. Bradford comes with questions after the injury but before the injury seemed to be a clear cut number one choice.
Easily the best corner in the draft...Haden would bring a lot to the Raiders and be a deadly duo with Ausomugha. Raiders may try to trade up for a quarterback as well.
Morgan would fit Denver's system perfectly and give them another pass rusher on the other side of Dumervill. Broncos could also go secondary here.
Singletary loves his defense and McClain is the type of player that fits the mold perfectly. Along with Patrick Willis He could help form a strong duo of linebackers for years to come.
Seattle has really struggled against the pass and although Taylor Mays has dropped a little he is still an outstanding player that could start right away for Seattle.
I believe 49ers will go for defense again and get a great pass rusher off the end with Pierre-Paul. He has a great work ethic and is explosive getting to the quarterback
Texans still struggle on defense, they have put some nice pieces together but Amobi Okoye is still young and hasn't lived up to potential at DT so far. Brian Price could go along way in helping stuffing up the middle of the field.
Vanden Bosch and Kearse are both near the ends of their careers. Titans could find a great replacement in Griffen. He could learn a lot from the two and be a force when he gets the chance to start.
Steelers' offensive line has been a bit of a problem for a few years and is something they will need to address soon. Trent Williams could give them a starting piece and be a franchise tackle for years to come.
Rex Ryan realizes how much he misses Kris Jenkins stuffing up the middle of the field. Even if Jenkins comes back 100 percent, he is getting up there in age and Dan Williams might help ease the transition at defensive tackle.
Falcons really struggled on defense this year and could really go with any position here. With no real standouts in the secondary though I could see them picking whoever the best available defense back is and in my mind here it would be Thomas.
It's obvious that the Dolphins are an up and coming team but they still need a few more pieces to complete the puzzle. Chad Henne seems like he could be the quarterback for years to come but he will need someone to throw to. Dez Bryant is the best WR in the draft and if he falls this far look for Miami to welcome him with open arms.
Todd Heap is getting old and Joe Flacco needs someone to throw to. If for some reason Bryant falls to Baltimore I would look for them to snatch him up but otherwise Hernandez could be a nice fit for them.
Giants have been up and down all season. One of the more inconsistent spot on their team is linebacker and Sergio Kindle projects to be a starter right away.
Dunlap has fallen down the board after his DUI but his talent is undeniable. There are rumors of people saying his teammate Tebow would go to Jacksonville but that would be way too early and Dunlap would fit a pressing need for the Jaguars
Graham is one of the hardest working players in the draft. Patriots realize now how much they miss Seymour and Graham could step in to help fill the void. He could also be dropped back as a pass rushing linebacker if needed.
Packers need offensive line but there might not be a good enough player available at this spot. Another need is running back and Spiller could give them the best running back they've had in years.
Hughes is the best player on a very good TCU team and could give Dallas a special hometown player. Marcus Spears has been a bit of a letdown and it could be time to move on.
Eagles have been known for their talented secondary for years, but it isn't quite as good as it used to be. Robinson may not start right away but he could give them depth and be a great starter eventually.
Hasselback is near the end and Seattle will need someone to replace him soon. McCoy could be a nice fit and learn on the bench for a couple of year...a situation that could be ideal for the Seahawks.
Cardinals may lose Boldin in the offseason and could use another weapon to help take pressure off Fitz. Gresham could be a top ten player but injury has moved him down the boards. Cards could get a steal if he comes back 100 percent.
You never know what will happen with OchoCinco in the offseason and even if he is back Coles doesn't look like the player he used to be. Tate's stock has soared and could be a deadly weapon for the Bengals.
Chargers could lose Merriman in the offseason and even if they don't they could use help at linebacker. Where better to look than linebacker U. Bowman is a special player and one that could be around for years.
Vikings don't have a lot of spots to fill. The secondary isn't terrible but it does get picked on since the front seven are so good. Jones could help with depth and be a starter right away if need be.
Colts have had a ton of injuries on defense. Their linebacker have been better than expected but they could still use another to help with depth. Weatherspoon is a guy that can cover lots of the field and can be moved around.
Spikes has fallen down the draft board after questionable character issues. Greg Williams is a great teacher on defense and could help this kid live up to his potential which is enormous. Spikes could go a long way in making this improving defense even better.
