This Saturday, Live from the MEN Arena in Manchester, England and airing free via tape-delay on SpikeTV, Randy “The Natural” Couture re-enters the light-heavyweight division to face the hungry and talented Truth, Brandon Vera. Couture has dropped his past two fights but is focused on making another run at a title.

Couture is, without question, one of the finest athletes to even compete in MMA. Couture is a legend in the sport having been a champion five times in two weight classes and is already a member of the UFC Hall of Fame.

The Natural has risen to greatness by utilizing his world-class wresting and dirty boxing to wear down and control his opponents. Aside for his technical skills, Couture has been known and revered for his amazing level of fitness. Couture seems to never wear down inside the octagon and he always comes in ready to go to war till the very end.

Eventually age catches up with everyone, and Couture is no different. Couture has dropped his past two fights and after Brandon “The Truth” Vera gets done with him, Couture will be leaving England on a three-fight skid for the first time in his career.

Brandon Vera was once one of the fastest rising stars in the UFC but has yet to reach his championship potential. The Truth has all the tools necessary to be a force in the light-heavyweight division and he is finally ready to cash in on all that potential.

This fight will be won and lost inside the clinch. Couture uses the clinch to grind down his opponents. Vera uses it to violently maul his opponent’s bodies with knees and elbow strikes.

Don’t think that Couture will be the far superior wrestler either. Vera attended Old Dominion on a wrestling scholarship before leaving school early to join the Air Force. Vera wrestled for the Air Force and was given the opportunity to train at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Vera may not have the accolades that Couture has but he has trained with some of the best in the world and that training will pay huge dividends Saturday night.

Vera will look to keep the distance initially by chopping away at Couture’s legs with his powerful leg kicks. Once Couture’s lower body has been tenderized Vera will look for the clinch. From there it will not be pretty as Vera will unleash his amazing Muay Thai.

Randy be ready because The Truth will be. The Truth is hungry and fierce. The Truth is going to bring the pain, and The Truth will have his hand raised at the end of the night.

Brandon Vera wins this via second-round TKO.
