Ronda Rousey Calls WrestleMania 2018 Win One of the Greatest Days of Her Life
Ronda Rousey has had just one match in WWE, and it already qualifies as one of the most memorable days of her life.
Rousey said teaming with Kurt Angle to beat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34 on Sunday was her second-most enjoyable day ever behind getting married to Travis Browne, per WWE.com:
Rousey and Angle were victorious when the former UFC star locked McMahon in an armbar.
The WWE chief brand officer fought hard to try to prevent Rousey from securing the hold, but she tapped out mere seconds after Rowdy got her left arm and yanked back.
Many wondered how Rousey would look in her WWE debut. While she was an accomplished fighter in the Octagon and won the UFC women's bantamweight title, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling are entirely different disciplines.
The 31-year-old answered her skeptics by not only looking proficient as a wrestler but also demonstrating an understanding of the nuances required to build drama in a match.
Triple H told For The Win's Nick Schwartz in January that Rousey would be going to the WWE Performance Center to start training for her first match. That move paid off in spades, and there's little doubt now she should have a fruitful career ahead in WWE.
