Jacob Moore Becomes 1st Male Gymnast to File Suit Against Larry Nassar

Jacob Moore, a gymnast who competed for the U.S. men's junior national team from 2015-17, added his name to an amended complaint against disgraced physician Larry Nassar on Wednesday. 

According to Amanda Turner of International Gymnast Magazine, Moore's allegation "is the first known instance of Nassar abusing a male."

Moore is the brother of former U.S. gymnast Kamerin Moore. In her victim impact statement, which was read at Nassar's first state sentencing hearing on sexual assault charges, Kamerin alleged Jacob had been abused by Nassar. 

In the lawsuit, Moore alleges Nassar gave him an acupuncture treatment around his "pubic area and in and around his genitalia ostensibly for the purpose of treating his shoulder pain."

The filing also mentions Nassar "pulled down Moore's pants and exposed him to a minor female gymnast, who was also present at the time."

In addition to Moore, more than 300 women and girls have said they were sexually abused by Nassar under the guise of medical treatment. 

Nassar has been sentenced to 40 to 175 and 40 to 125 years in prison in separate cases involving sexual misconduct. He's also currently serving a 60-year sentence on child pornography charges.
