Robby Anderson Arrested on 9 Charges Including Resisting Arrest
January 19, 2018
New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson was arrested Friday in Florida and faces nine charges, including resisting an officer and reckless driving.
The Broward County Sheriff's Office posted the NFL player's booking sheet and confirmed the news to Daniel Popper of the New York Daily News.
Andy Slater of WINZ reported Anderson allegedly threatened to sexually assault the arresting officer's wife after going 105 miles per hour in an area where the speed limit was 45.
Harming a public servant or family and a series of traffic violations are among the other charges against Anderson.
"We are aware of the situation. This is a pending legal matter and we will have no further comment," a Jets spokesperson said in a statement to Popper.
A 24-year-old Temple product, Anderson was born in New Jersey but attended South Plantation High School in South Florida.
He was previously arrested in May while attending a music festival in Miami and faces a felony charge of resisting arrest. Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reported last month the trial date for that case was pushed back from Dec. 26 to March 19.
Anderson caught 63 passes for 941 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2017 season with the Jets.
