Ohio State Will Wear Gray Uniforms and Custom LeBron James Cleats vs. Penn State

Ohio State will sport a new look for Saturday's monumental matchup against Penn State.

The No. 6 Buckeyes revealed gray uniforms they will wear against the undefeated No. 2 Nittany Lions at Ohio Stadium. As noted by Cleveland.com's Bill Landis, they will also don all-red cleats from LeBron James' Nike line.

The team also wore customized Soldier XI cleats in its only loss of the season against Oklahoma.

According to WTOL-11's Jordan Strack, Ohio State vice president and athletics director Gene Smith pushed for permission to wear the uniforms following opposition from Penn State:

Saturday's game wields major College Football Playoff implications for both Big Ten programs. Perhaps the Buckeyes hope a new attire will create distance from last year's showdown when they blew a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter and lost on a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown.
